Dimplex Prism Linear Electric Fireplace

Had ours for two years and no issues and looks great. It can also put out some nice heat.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This electric fireplace is gorgeous. We installed it in our bedroom. Be sure to make sure you have the appropriate hardware and mounting area. It is a little over four feet long so you will need two people to install it properly. We are handy so we were able to follow the directions and the install went smoothly. The flame looks great and it easily adjusts. It’s relatively quiet when on.

You have 3 different mounting options and this does include hardware. This is a perfect addition to bring warmth or just relaxing ambience to a room. There is an option for just the flame illusion. You can also just run fan and turn up heat to your liking. It's very quiet when running. Rocks and remote are included. You can choose color of your flames as well. There is a front glass you put in so after your done rearranging your rocks, everything stays in place and is well protected. I think I need one in every room.

The heat is a bit lacking though and I wouldn't but this if heat is your main concern. If you want an electric fireplace that looks as close as it gets to a real flame then this is for you. Overall happy with the fireplace given the limitation of limited heat output.

We are professionals and have installed many of these types of units in several homes. While it is a bit more than we recommend for the average do-it-yourselfer, it is not a difficult or messy install. We decided to add this to our own bathroom remodel because of the beautiful lights. We haven't found it to be particularly warming for the room, but really we didn't want that. We were looking for ambience. The flickering colors are delightful and gives the bathroom a tranquil, spa-like feel. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful looking fireplace. Being able to set different color patterns and optional heat with thermostat settings is great.

This is our 2nd Dimplex fireplace. We have replaced a propane fireplace with this one after our experience with another Dimplex in our Master BR. The variety of colors and the ability to provide a bit of warming is excellent in Florida

we have sold & installed thousands of these models and other Dimplex models as well into single family and multi family projects here in the Great White North with great success and positive feed back. it's a 1500 watt heater which is equal to approx. 4500 - 5000 Btu's , it's enough to take the chill off the room as to trying to heat the area

Very easy to install. Looks very nice. Only problem is it puts out very little heat. According to the manual there are three heat settings (off, low, high). I notice no difference between low and high (either fan speed or temperature). Good customer service, as they sent me out two parts hoping to fix the problem. Just got them installed today. No change. Dang.

Love everything about it. With the new fireplace and surround it really updated the room. We love the look, the size, the different colors and the warmth that the heater puts out.

I feared this fireplace was a bit of an indulgence when I ordered it. I was afraid it would be over the top for the little beach cottage where it was intended. It wasn't. It was and is precisely perfect in every way for the little love shack of ours. We had limited electricity out there, so I needed low voltage requirement. It is a small sleeping space, so I needed it to be quiet. It is! Whisper quiet. It needed to have a thermostat I could leave set to prevent moisture wicking at the beach in winter. It's awesome. We mounted it in the wall and it was pretty difficult, I'll admit. My husband cursed more than a few times and we ended up having to take the thing almost completely apart - but he figured it out, and it mounted eventually right where we wanted it. The funky colors are fun, the heat source takes the chill off the cottage, and it looks very romantic! I couldn't be happier with the fireplace.

We decided to do the flush wall mount so a little adjustment to our wall and we were enjoying a beautiful setting in our basement.

Romantic electric fireplace, great for entertaining and relaxing

The fireplace is a nice aesthetic to add to a room. The main purpose for the purchase of this fireplace was to add supplemental heat to our bedroom. While the fireplace operates quietly, the heat output is very disappointing. I let the heat run on the fireplace for a several hours and temperature in the bedroom went from 71 to 73 degrees. The bedroom is 16 x 16 and is well insulated and closed off. Again, looks nice sitting on the wall, but the heating element in this model leaves a lot to be desired.
