Q: Does this only play a pre-recorded song or is it like a real microphone with the child’s voice amplified?

A: So again, does it not amplify your own voice? Or just plays the prerecorded music?

submitted byXwing679 - 5 years agoA: Ours has two buttons. The top button “amplifies” the kid’s voice (just a bit — mostly you know it is working because of the distortion, but it is recording and coming out the speaker). The second button plays 2 songs — Summer and Let it Go.

A: As far as I can tell, just one pre-recorded. I haven't opened it yet. It seems very confusing.

Q: Is there a way to turn off the microphone without removing the batteries? Even when no one is touching it the songs start to randomly play?

A: Hi Caitlin! Unfortunately, the microphone does not have a dedicated power-off switch. To prevent it from playing randomly, you will need to remove the batteries when not in use.

Likely a knockoff. But my kid loves this toy. It has one button for a (lousy) microphone and another button that plays two songs you can sing along with. No volume control, which is on par with being cheap and for kids. But… I’m really shocked that one of the songs uses the WRONG LYRICS! This microphone seems like it doesn’t come from Disney.

It’s not Idina Menzel singing, it’s Demi Lavato (and it’s not great). If your kids are particularly fond of “the real Elsa” singing, this won’t be for them. There are only 2 songs: “Let It Go” and “In Summer” It’s LOUD. Like painfully loud. I put some scotch tape over the speaker holes to muffle it a bit, because even the kids complained about the volume (which is NOT adjustable). The microphone allows you to sing along, but you can’t hear anything over the soundtrack playing. If you’re singing without the soundtrack, you have to hold the mic right in front of your mouth for it to pick you up—and even then it’s pretty quiet. For the price, I guess it’s okay. My almost 3 year old enjoys it. My 6 year old won’t touch it because she can’t hear herself singing.

What a waste of 13 dollars to play one clip of a song over and over again and claim it has a mic to sing along too …I threw the packaging away bc I read the online description but it’s not the same mic ..if you look at the pictures it’s two different mics …

This is NOT the microphone I thought I was purchasing. If you look closely it’s two different microphones pictured. I got the one that plays two songs partially and it loudly beeps if your mouth is anywhere close to the microphone. It does not come with Bluetooth capabilities or anything fancy. Waste of money. Now I’m stuck looking for the other microphone to purchase that I thought I was getting. So disappointed.

Not only does it not haha an “off” switch, it turns itself back on and starts playing music after about 15 seconds. It also only plays only the two songs and nothing else. The child also has to keep pressing the mic button down continuously for the mic to work, which is frustrating for the child. It also gets stuck in demo mode and only plays part of the song. No volume control and it is on very high volume. So… worst toy ever. We took the batteries out after 30 min of constant loud noise.

I have one of these for my daughter who was 4 at the time when she got it. I purchased another two for my nieces for Xmas who love Frozen. It works great and is such a good gift especially for the little girls who love to sing.

Wow the second they put this in your car from Target Pick Up you will regret your purchase. Bought this as a stocking stuffer for my 4 year old who loves Elsa. It is incredibly loud and it’s the Demi Lovato version of “Let it Go”…just the chorus. Save yourself the headache, and your toddler the disappointment and shop for another toy. I’ll be returning this and looking for a toy microphone, a la the 90’s. No obnoxious songs being song over you, just pure kid-powered fun.
