Q: I have lost the written directions. Does the object she is making goin on the gold paper into the oven? If not, what do we use?

A: It does not go in on the gold paper, if you use the gold paper it will stick to the back and will no longer let the sun shine through. Use aluminum foil instead.

A: That is just an insert. It could be used to cover your work space to create the crystal art, however, it should not go in the oven.

Terrible. Plastic crystals smell terrible when baking. I have them for 15 degrees over temp said by directions as temp would not melt them even well passed instructed time.

Took me an hour to make these and during the baking process 375F for 25-30 mins, toxic fumes (smelled like burnt plastic) filled my entire house. We had to go outside and keep all the doors open for half an hour (in the dead of winter) to clear the air. As the charms cooled on the cookie sheet, there was some popping noise (as warned in the instructions) and afterwards I noticed that there were tiny cracks all over the charms. I would not recommend this item.

My 10 year old daughter got this for her birthday and was so excited to do it! She worked for hours and it was so tedious, and over and over again the beads would inevitably move under the frames and ruin all of her hard work keeping them in the separate sections. She was so bummed and hard on herself, until I read her the other reviews here. Really don't recommend. She said "zero stars".

My 7 year old enjoyed making them. Have to be super careful pouring the beads in, and make sure each space is completely filled. Thought we did that but had holes in the crystal one. The hanging attachments SUCK!! The chain and suction cups don’t fit through the opening to hang it from. They only supply 2 jump rings to use.

Beyond frustrating. Beads are impossible to pour without making a mess, as is keeping the bead colors separate in the molds as the teeny beads get everywhere. I had to do the entire project myself because it was too difficult for my child. Save yourself the hassle and skip it.

Very pretty, but so difficult and very smelly!! The metal frames and bend and won't lay flat on the baking sheet, making the beads slip thru to the other side. Obnoxiously difficult. My 9 year old was frustrated. Not really worth it.

Smells awful, took twice as long to melt as instructions claimed, bumping it even the slightest bit while working means you have to start over. This was so frustrating for my 9yo, who generally LOVES craft projects. She spent her own money on this and was really disappointed. Also, instructions were hidden underneath part of the box. We almost didn't find them.

DO NOT BUY THIS! My daughter got this project as a gift and was so excited since she loves crafts. It's a very cute concept and so appealing to a 6 year old; however, I basically had to do the whole project for her because the crystals are impossible to pour (even for me a craft-loving adult) and you spend half the time moving tiny crystals, piece by piece, with a pair of tweezers into the right slots. It smells toxic while cooking and there were big open patches if just the crystals weren't placed perfectly. The whole charade ended in tears and I threw away half of it to get it out of my life. Zero stars!

Should have read reviews before making these. (1) Like someone else said, I had to help my child do most of this as she had a hard time getting the crystals where she wanted them. (2) I baked them at 350 per directions (which were hard to find, tucked behind gold backing in box) and they wouldn’t melt. Finally referred to other reviews and upped the temp to 425/450. (3) had to take out twice and fill in areas that had thinned out. (4) smelled up my kitchen like melting plastic which I expected as the directions warned of that. ** end result was good though, my daughters love them. Just would’ve been an easier process had I read reviews

Other reviews made me nervous that we'd gotten this for my five year old, but it was great. Both she and my eight year old had a ton of fun doing this project with very little help. They didn't keep their forms flat on the tray so some melted out but it was easy to snap off once it dried.

It needs a higher temperature. I am glad that I read reviews when ours was not melting. I changed it to 425 and it started to melt better. I did need to add more to fill in spots. Fill it full of resin pieces. It does smell but it isn't too bad. Younger kids and those that are easily frustrated will need help.

This came without instructions. I couldn’t find them online either so I had to guess how to make these, which was very disappointing. The crystals are difficult to keep in the area that you place them which left my daughter more frustrated than happy putting together this craft. Would have been cool if it was actually fun to do…
