Dobson Natural Wood and Black Metal Coffee Table Natural - Finch

I was bought this as a gift. It was obviously falsely advertised on the website and /or the Target warehouse is selling knockoffs from overseas. It came in a box that said “Tommy Hilfiger” and the model name said “Robson”, not “Dobson”. Uhhh not the same thing at all. Further, the parts were damaged (dinged, etc.) and dusty, the bolts were riddled with rust, and the manual tried to read like it was a genuine Tommy Hilfiger Home line product. When inspecting the manual further and going on Google and doing some digging, it was clear this product is not a Tommy Hilfiger product, nor is it endorsed by the brand itself. Which is hysterical, because that’s not even how this coffee table is advertised - it isn’t advertised as a non USA made brand knockoff. So what is going on here? Why is stuff like this allowed to be sold to people, and why is it mislabeled, and what condition is the facility in that makes such a dusty, dirty, product?

I was surprised that the box said Tommy Hilfiger when it arrived, not that it really matters. It was very well packaged with none of the dings or nicks you usually find on shipped furniture items. Assembly was straightforward, slide the metal bars into place and affix identical screws and washers in place with the included Allen wrench. Final product was solid and heavy; I put pad stickers on each corner to prevent the metal legs from scratching the floor. Overall, it’s a good, sturdy table. It’s a bit boring but probably goes well with a minimalist, modern decor style.
