Q: What specific ingredients in this are bioengineered??? Wheat? Corn oil?
submitted by Kris10 - 8 months ago
A: In the United States, crops such as corn, soy, and sugar beets are primarily GMO crops. In the food industry, multiple suppliers can be used to source a single ingredient. Therefore, the USDA does not require manufacturers to disclose which ingredients contain or are sourced from GMOs, only that the food contains bioengineered ingredients. We follow UDSA guidance. USDA publishes a list of bioengineered foods that consumers may reference to determine which ingredients could be bioengineered. The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) within USDA maintains the list of foods. Here is a link. https://www.ams.usda.gov/rules-regulations/be/bioengineered-foods-list
