Q: Is this soap 100% uncented / fragrance free? Im hypersensitive and break out in hives on my lady bits if any perfumes is in it.

A: Thanks for writing in - Our unscented products do contain a small amount of perfume to neutralize natural odors of ingredients used in products – called “Masking Oil” Fragrance, therefore, is listed on package ingredients statement. Because the amount of fragrance is so small, product is classified as "unscented".

We have been using dove for sensitive skin, fragrance free for years. Something has drastically changed. My skin has been dry and is itchy. Thought it was just dry weather I just showered and my face is beet red and burning. Used a new bar. Will never buy again!! My husband is at pharmacy and I was told to use Benadryl to try to calm my skin.

Been using Sensitive Skin Beauty Bar for more than 15 years- was the best soap for allergies, asthma etc. Purchased in December (16pack)- very fragrant-thought maybe it was just that batch-gave it away. Purchased again last week(16pack)- fragrance even stronger than last time. Please bring back the "old" soap.

The new smell makes my eyes water and I had to air my bathroom after I got rid of the pack I purchased recently. Dear Dove, you are going to lose a lot of customers if you don’t change the formula back to what it used to be.

We have used this soap for years with no issues as my kids are sensitive to fragrance. This batch smelled like chemical gasoline and the reviews confirm the formula changed. US companies don’t care about their consumers and it’s a sin.

Used to love this! Swear by it! It was the only thing I could use for my sensitive skin. Then the soap started changing and becoming smaller and smaller. So much smaller you can hear it in the box. I’m purchasing more packages for less people and the price has steadily went up.

I thought I got a bad batch so I went and bought another package and the same thing. This is the only soap I can use without breaking out but now I can’t even stand the smell. I tried using it and I feel like my entire body smells horrible. And now I have 20 bars of soap that I don’t want to use!

I have no idea how an unscented soap can have such a strong smell. I bought a box of eight bars and the moment I opened the plastic I smelled an awful chemical smell. I’m scared to use this soap on my skin. Genuinely nasty smell.

I tried this because my dermatologist suggested it. It has a very strong putrid smell like something that has gone bad. It left this awful smell on my skin. I can't use it. Threw it out.

I'm with the reviewer above me. Something has clearly changed. I've been using Dove for Sensitive Skin for 45 years now. The last batch I purchased (large one at BJs) has a TERRIBLE ODOR to it. Almost like a VOA smell. (Like I'm in a nail salon). I thought I got a bad batch but after reading that last review I can say it's not me. I hope it goes back to the original formula or I have to find a new soap to use. Why do things keep having to get made more toxic instead of safer? I will be contacting customer service.

The formula has changed for the worse over the past couple of months and the bar is also smaller. This was the only soap I can use, but since the change my skin has become extremely dry, flakey, and itchy. I’ve been using this soap for years and it’s extremely disappointing that they’ve changed it.

My family has used this soap for years, we usually love it and it’s gentle enough for kiddos. The most recent pack we purchased in Jan. 2025 smells horrible!!! It has a strong mildew/chemical odor and I plan to return.

I have used this soap for over ten years and loved it. I recently purchased two different packages, with two different lots, from two different retailers, and both smelled horrendous, like mold. I had to wrap them in plastic because they smelled so strong. My entire family agrees that they smell disgusting.

I've bought just the regular sensitive skin Dove fir 20+ years, because I have allergies to fragrances. This new Dove has an additional moisturizer added, and it smells different and it doesn't agree with my body or my face!!!! I search all over fir the packaging that DOES NOT have the moisturizer highlighted in gold. Most of the retail establishments only carry the moisturizer highlighted soap. I've used Dove instead of Ivory Soap, because it didn't leave a film or dry out my skin. Dove had the right combination. Something has clearly changed and it looks like I'll have to go back to Ivory soap!!! WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ORIGINAL SENSITIVE VERSION????

I have been using this soap almost exclusively for over 5 years. I don’t know WHAT changed recently, but it has a chemical smell (not an added scent or fragrance, just the ingredients themselves smell strong) and a bar barely lasts 3 showers. That along with the never ending price increases really has me searching for a replacement. I’m so disappointed.
