However I could not score higher due to the scent which I find unpleasant. Smells like remnants of a camp fire but not in a good way.

You need something to refresh your skin, and dig deep too get you back smelling soft and good. This is a great alternative for anyone. It smells great and exfoliates. It's pretty gritty, so I necessarily wouldn't recommend using it on your face. I primarily use it for under my neck and body. I would suggest using a washcloth or apply with your bare hands. This should be something that you use as adjunct to your cleaning routine. Leaves a pleasant sent for quite a long time.
