Q: Can this product be used in a "HE"high efficiency washer machine?
A: This is not an answer but I was going to ask the same question because I do not see on the bottle saying .."HE" compatible or can be used in a "HE" high efficiency machine. P& G please confirm this and is it printed on the label? Thank you
submitted byMomma D - 2 months agoA: This product is HE-compatible.

Q: Can I use this product with lysols laundry sanitizer?
A: Probably a bad idea. Lysol laundry sanitizer’s active ingredients are quaternary ammonium compounds, which would likely be rendered ineffective by the lower pH created by the citric acid in this product. Basically they cancel each out. FYI, the quat disinfectants in Lysol’s product aren’t super great for the environment and at high concentrations, they may pose some health risks (mostly skin and lung irritation, but in mice, high doses are associated with other health issues. But people aren’t mice, and the dose makes the poison, so it’s probably fine when used at directed), but still, if this citric acid rinse gets you the same results, it’s probably a better option.

Q: If we're adding it to the fabric softener dispenser, are we mixing it with the softener or using it in place of the fabric softener? That isn't clear since it says it's not a fabric softener. Thanks!
A: You've mentioned what it not to say of Downy years ago on TV. Your clothes will come out NOT static clean. This is not a fabric softener.
submitted byCharles - 6 months agoA: Downy Rinse & Refresh is designed to be used with detergent, and can be used with other fabric enhancers like scent boosters or dryer sheets, but not liquid fabric softener or bleach.

Q: Is this safe for fabrics that have do not add fabric softener
A: That's a great question. This is not a fabric softener, so it should be safe. However, you may want to double-check with the fabrics manufacturer to make sure.

Q: When do I put this in my washer or what slot do I put it in?
A: Downy Rinse and Refresh is a rinse-added product, so it goes in the fabric softener dispenser on most washing machines. It can also be added in the center post agitator for traditional top-loading machines, or it can be added directly to the drum during the rinse cycle.

Q: If you pour this straight in the washer at the start of the cycle, instead of during the rinse cycle, is the product still effective?
A: For the best results with this product, we recommend using it as directed.

Q: Is this good for dark clothes
A: You can use Downy Rinse & Refresh on any color clothing. In fact, Downy R&R is safe for all washable fabrics, including activewear and children’s clothing. The low pH rinse removes residues that have built up on your clothes. Trust it'll cut through those dull looking residues and malodor molecules and wash them away, leaving you with only beautiful, great smelling clothes.

Q: How much product are you supposed to use?
A: With Downy Rinse and Refresh each load may need a little more or a little less based on your laundry needs. Pour Downy Rinse directly into the fabric softener dispenser. Start by filling half of the dispenser (around 1/4 cup) for normal loads, and pour more for tougher odors.
