Q: Is this product certified in any way to be cruelty free? Leaping bunny? Peta? I only want to purchase cruelty, free, certified products ! (If allowed to be tested by other countries, or 3rd party it is NOT cruelty free !! )

submitted by Deb - 2 months ago
  • A: Although we could state "Not tested on animals" on many of our products, we don't make this claim because we believe it's misleading. There is currently no set standard for when a company can claim that their products have not been tested on animals. We do not test our products on animals anywhere in the world unless required by law and we are working hard to make animal testing of all consumer products obsolete.

  • A: We don't recommend using directly on your pets/using Downy to bathe them, as it is meant for laundry. Please be assured our products have been thoroughly evaluated and are safe when used as directed.

Q: My Downy is lumpy. I read I can add white vinegar in order to dilute it. If I do that, will it still be safe to use on my clothes?

Q: Is it OK to wash compression stockings with this product ?

submitted by RWayneW - 3 years ago
  • A: We wouldn't expect you to have any issues. Fabric conditioner should just not be used on children's sleepwear or garments labeled as flame resistant as it may reduce flame resistance, or on garments made with fluffier fabrics (such as fleece, velour, chenille, and terry cloth).
