Q: Is this good to use down there?
A: Our soap works great as a great body wash and many customers also use this soap to wash sensitive areas of their bodies. While our soaps were not specifically made for these delicate areas and lean towards the alkaline side of the spectrum, we do receive much positive feedback that they perform just fine on sensitive skin. As we are all different and some may be more sensitive than others, we recommend that you do a spot test with the soap first. For those with sensitive skin or for more sensitive areas of the body, we suggest using our Baby Unscented Soap, as some of the essential oils, such as Peppermint or Eucalyptus, can be a bit strong for these areas. If you are still unsure or have unique sensitivities, we recommend that you consult with your preferred medical professional to determine which product is right for you.

Q: Is this brand antibacterial?
A: Hi, thank you for your interest in Dr. Bronner's! Soap that is labeled “antibacterial” means that active antimicrobial ingredients have been added to it. At this time, none of our soaps or cleaning products contain these specific ingredients; therefore, we do not label them as “antibacterial.” However, the US Food and Drug Administration published a report indicating that soap and water are just as effective at mechanically removing microbes as antibacterial soap is at killing microbes. Note that antibacterial soap can also kill good microbes along with the bad, often containing known toxins such as triclosan. For these reasons, we believe our soap is safer and more effective than an antibacterial agent, even though it is not labeled as such. For more information on this topic, we encourage you to check out Lisa Bronner’s blog post Ditch the Antibacterial: Soap Is All You Need. https://www.lisabronner.com/ditch-the-antibacterial-soap-is-all-you-need/ Should you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us directly!

Q: Where is the Rose Oil sourced from? Thank you!
A: Our natural rose fragrance is made up of a blend of essential oils such as geranium, davana, eucalyptus, rose otto, and orange. While we do not list each of the fragrance ingredients on our labels, rest assured that the formula and manufacturing process of the fragrance are verified by our organic certifier to make sure that it meets the strict requirements of the USDA’s National Organic Program and is manufactured without the use of synthetic chemicals. All of the components in our fragrances are natural and have not been adulterated or synthesized in any way.
