Handlebars are not aligned straight and wing out. Am unable to straighten, so they may be correct. However my last Drive Duet was not like this. Handlebars were horizontal to floor.
Great Idea But a Tipping Hazard

Just bought this Rollator/Transport chair. It is a great idea when using it as a simple rollator to walk on your own. And if the walk is to far, sit down on the opposite side, put your feet on the foot rest and let someone else do the pushing. It is like part walker....part wheel chair. However, it is a TIPPING HAZARD on the side where the foot rest is. Lean over to far, over you go!! Happened to me in a store. Reached down to pick up something I dropped....over on the floor I went! BE CAREFUL...IT WILL TIP OVER. Need to redesign the legs on the transporter side. Legs need to come out as far on the transporter side as it does on the rollator side.

I bought walker for it's strength and larger wheels. I do not use the transport feature but it is nice to have it if you need it. I use daily and put it in and out of car. The handle that is attached to the cargo bag ripped loose. Walker is heavier then your average walker and handle not up to the job. The bearings in one of the wheels has failed now. The walker is 7 months old. I am looking for repairs now and came across the review. Great walker but they need to upgrade some parts.

Bought for wife and it's excellent! Versatile, convenient, easy to use and maneuver. Previously had Drive rollator but wanted foot rest. Your arm rests aid getting on and off the unit. Nice design and construction.

Given to me for my birthday and have been very well pleased with it. The only thing I wish was better is the backrest. I find if you lay against it very much it will cause a sore spot on your spine.

I can't believe that these are still being sold. We purchased one for my mom, to take on vacation with us. When being used as a transport chair, if the wheels encounter even the slightest resistance, such as a threshold, a crack in the sidewalk, etc., the chair will pitch forward and toss the rider to the ground. We ended up pulling rather than pushing the chair. It is dangerous to use otherwise.

This is a great apparatus! Changes from a walker to a portable wheelchair in moments. I bought this for my mom and we are both very pleased. Also an excellent price for what you get. I was very surprised that Target carried something like this. I highly recommend this!

I purchased this duet looking for something I can push my 87 year old dad in and also let him walk. The wheelchair I had was too heavy. I really like the duet it problem us wheels and seat. Wheels need to be made of rubber and a bit sturdier. Seat needs to be changed to a softer one and made with a belt of some kind so the elderly don't feel they will fall. I'm trying to change wheels hopefully I'll be happier..
Love my Duet!!

I have used my duet quite a lot as both a walker and transport chair. It's been a life saver on 2 cruises with excursions, airplanes 8 times, of course left at the door of the plane to be placed below during the flights, weddings, a funeral and in and out of our cars about a million times. When I am feeling well enough to drive, I am able to slide it in and out of my trunk alone, as long as I can sit on my bumper! Very easy fold/unfold and secure lock in both positions. Like other reviewers, i would love to see a cushioned seat and larger, shock absorbing wheels as being a rider over bumpy terrain, like brick walkways, can be jarring. Going through doorways with any sort of threshold or the many seams in a ships construction, must be navigated backward for ease and safety. And the first time we used it as a chair and, of course were late for a doctor appointment and going over cracked asphalt, I found myself (the passenger) sprawled out on the ground because a front wheel got caught in a crack. But I still love it! We just know it's limitations. So, are there things that could be improved? Yes. But there isn't anything else on the market that gives me the freedom of walking when I can and the security of being able to sit or ride when I need to, with this durability for the price!!

My wife is disabled and has been using a rollator for several years. She recently tripped and fell and broke her left foot. this required surgery to fix and she is now confined to a wheelchair as she can't walk. The wheelchair will fit our hallway but will not go through the bedroom or bathroom doors. She has to sit in the rollator and be pushed into the bedroom and bathroom. This,of course, is not what the rollatore is designed for. I saw the Duet at the DMG store and immediately knew this was what we needed. Now I did not buy ours from a store. I bought ours in a private sale from an individual who's wife had used it one time for 20 min,s. This is the best thing that we could have ever purchased. We now don't have to transfer her from the wheelchair to the Duet as she uses it instead of the wheelchair both at home and away. I highly recommend the Duet to anyone using both a rollator and wheelchair or even just a rollator. It will change your life.

Bought this about a year ago for a cruise. Front wheels caved in the first time it was used as a transport chair. Ship's maintenance man made it useable as a walker. Weight listed as 300 pounds, but husband only weighs 225. Great disappointment.

As a walker this is fine. I use it all the time. As a transport chair I every time I have tried to use it I have ended up on the ground. Thank God no serious injury but getting up is a struggle. My husband who is well-versed in mechanics says it's because it it is not long enough to be turned around. I searched long and hard to find something that would double as a wheelchair… This is not it. I paid extra money to get that benefit which I cannot use. Save your dollars and buy a different Rollator

Used it once as soon as I got it. Sorry to say it does not go over the slightest uneven surface such as driveway, doorway. It stops abruptly and jerks the patient forward. It is also hard to maneuver.
Unsafe Transporter

I regret purchase of this product, especially for use as a transporter. Unless you are transporting someone on a perfectly smooth surface, the transporter is highly prone to coming to an abrupt stop and tipping forward whenever the front wheels encounter a change in surface height even as small as 1/4 inch. Serious risk transporting in parking lots, sidewalks or for example, between rooms with different surfaces such as from carpeting to tile. Even pebbles can stop one of the front wheels and tip the transporter forward dumping your cargo on the ground. OK as a walker, but unsafe at any speed for use to transport your loved ones.

I brought this rollator/transport chair on a family trip abroad. It cannot travel safely over uneven pavement. While being pushed by a responsible adult I was ejected from the chair three times. I was badly bruised. It needs larger wheels and, perhaps, a seat belt.

This seemed to be just the right thing for traveling. It has been heavy but OK until today, when the seat cracked. This is very disappointing. I notice the seat is made from what seems to be pressed cardboard while my old regular rollator has a wooden seat covered with a cushion. I am not heavier than the recommended weight.
Seat Malfunction

Overall construction is good to excellent, the one problem encountered is the forward bar for the table or seat causes a crack in the weld that provides the security of the forward bar to crack and eventually break on both sides.
