Duraflame Infrared Quartz Electric Juniper Log Set Heater with Crackling Sound - 12.54 lb

I bought this for my living room that has a fireplace with not vent. After researching ventless fireplaces and the associated hazards I decided to go elect. I love this fireplace/heater so much! It heats my large living room extremely well. I love the ambiance, flickering flames and crackling sounds.

Had doubts when purchasing but mother-in-law loved her gift. Realistic looking and she lives the extra heat in her living room.

The active flame is amazing but it gets cut off by the seam of the log design, so you see the seam shadow, instead of the intended “open flame”. There is no thermostat on this, so the temp setting is not easily(or completely not) understood. The rotating flame makes a buzzing noise, sometimes; if you want it to be quiet, you must tap the machine. Kinda cheap feeling after this review, but it does heat up a space quickly. We have 10 for ceilings and 500sq feet. Open floor plan.

Absolutely in love with this fireplace insert. We live in an old 1940s home and even though we had the all clear from a chimney inspector, we were nervous about the leap into lighting an actual fire in the fireplace. This duraflame insert is exactly what we needed. So excited for our first holiday season with a “crackling fire” in the living room! We purchased a screen as well and you wouldn’t really know the fire wasn’t real. The unit does put out heat, however I left off one star as really, I don’t think it puts out “enough” heat. That’s okay, we can turn the heater off and still use the central heat in the house, as needed. I honestly can’t stop staring at it. My “pandemic” home office is in the living room and I have adjusted the monitors on my desk so that I can see the fireplace all day. Definitely worth the money. We will have an electrician install an outlet closer to the mantel. 2020 has been a crazy year, but this fireplace insert is definitely adding some peace and joy!

Didn't really want to use my woodburning fireplace and saw this insert online. This insert's great features convinced me this is the way to enjoy a cold evening watching TV from now on. After spray painting the interior of the fireplace gloss black (to better reflect the artificial flames), the look, the sound, and the heat provided made the $200 insert a great buy. No problem with hiding the power plug and the 20" size is perfect. The low price, the construction and packaging plus the speedy delivery was fantastic.
