Q: Does the draw under the lift top pull out or do you have to lift the top to get into the drawer?

A: The drawer underneath the lift top is a faux drawer that does not pull out. However, it does result in a fairly spacious compartment. To answer your question, yes, you would need to lift the top to get into the drawer.
