The cordless Dyson Gen5outsize has the suction power of a corded vacuum.¹ It has HEPA filtration for our deepest, most hygienic clean. It's engineered with the larger size, power, intelligence, and additional run time to deep clean larger spaces. It has a 25% wider cleaner head and 150% larger bin compared to the Dyson Gen5detect, as well as twice the run time. The Dyson Gen5outsize covers more floor with each pass and allows for more cleaning between bin emptying and charges. I gave the 5 star as the vacuum itself is awesome. Love the light on power nozzle showing the dirt you can't see without it! But I have 1 complaint.....why oh why can dyson not make a crevice tool thin and long enough to get between a car seat and console?!

I bought this to have upstairs as I already have a V11 Dyson downstairs which is fine. This is another fine example of Dyson's technology and is easy to use. It does not need the charging station to be drilled into the wall as we were given a free stand alone charging station but we did need to find more space for this and needed an extension lead as we could not place it near an electric point. Personally I prefer the switching on button to be as the V11 which you hold on as you use it, but this machine needs the other hand to switch it on and off. A good feature is the little tool that fits inside the wand which can easily be accessed without going back to the charging station. As I have mobility problems every help is welcome.

I much prefer the earlier model I had. The new design is top heavy with all the weight above the handle and a bigger battery unit attached to the handle so is difficult to manage & hold. I was also told a flexible nozzle was included but it wasn't.

AWESOME!!! Love every bit of it, I have total 4 cordless and this one is the best, it is but heavy though but I love the large motorized brush give me a larger area to sweep in one move. Suction is super nice but it does catch or choke on thin or fine area rugs, I just talked to min and it doesn’t choke. Love extra battery so I can keep going without have to worry about battery charge. Thank you Dyson, you have not disappointed me for last 15 years and you have outstanding customer service. One thing to note Dyson need to change the wheel on motorized brush they are very simply wheel screwed with single screw and tend to broke as those 2 tiny wheel hold the weight of the entire vacuum and I know it will break for me, I have broken 6 times on my DC12 and DC15, thanks to the outstanding customer service, they were replaced with no time.

I have owned this about a month, and I'm in love. My old love, a V12, is now my upstairs vacuum, and the Gen5 is for downstairs. Both were chosen for their on/off button as opposed to a trigger. I thought the V12 had good suction..but the Gen5 has blown me away! The built in wand..the longer run-time..the ease of use. I've given it 5/5, but I must admit it is heavy compared to others, but I would still 100% recommend it. Buy it!!!

It pained me greatly to make an investment in a vacuum cleaner. I am really happy that I did. We had another brand that was nice but when a plastic component broke it was time. Two cats provide plenty of opportunity. I had just vacuumed a day prior to getting the Dyson. I ran the Dyson over a 10x14 area rug and it filled to large canister completely. The hard floor attachment with the green led is like a great science experiment when using in a room without a light on. Floor looks perfectly clean, until you turn on the vacuum and the dust and cat hair glows. Dyson sucks it up and then voilà, it’s in the canister. I give high marks! And I hate buying appliances to do housework.

This is my third Dyson - the ease of using a stick vacuum versus a cord, makes the task accurate and speedy. The Gen5detect, has an off-on button rather than the trigger which I am getting used to. However, I have many silk rugs and even on the lowest setting, the motor head gives up so this is disappointing. I would also have liked to have a light incorporated on the head to detect dust. I am also using the Dok which was provided with the purchase, handy for holding the attachments but not as robust as the usual fixture.

I really like my new Dyson, the attachments are great especially the one for hard floor. I’m not sure I need to know how many dust particles it has collected , but it is an interesting feature. My only issue is that it is a bit heavy, the motor does a great job so I understand why it needs to be substantial. I would definitely recommend this vacuum cleaner.

I bought this as it's the latest and supposedly best Dyson out now in Australia. I highly rate the fluffy optic head's laser which works really well and game changer on tiles. I find the maneuverability of the fluffy optic and digital motorbar heads to be a little clunky. Also in terms of suction power I find the machine is a little weak and it struggles to pick up debris with a little bit of heft e.g. some grass. Also you can tell the suction is weaker as it doesn't suck dog hair up unless you go directly over it whereas my other vacuum simply needs to be near the hair and it gets sucked up. The worst thing I find about this machine is that the digital motorbar head, which is for carpet, simply does not work and gets stuck. This is even on fairly low pile carpet. So basically I spent over a grand on a vacuum that does exclusively the tiles. Extremely unhappy with this and from a design point of view they completely dropped the ball.

It’s perfect all around. Easy to empty. Great power and fairly quiet need to buy attachments for it. The battery doesn’t take to long to charge. Easy clean filtration system. And perfect suction. Powerful when I meds it to be
