I bought the shade "pinkies up" a few weeks ago and loved it but when I tried to restock I got a totally different color. It doesn't look that different in the tube but it went from a pinky nude to just straight pink. Very disappointing bc I loved the first color I had and don't know if it was a fluke or what. 🙁

The shade swap they have on the lightest shade shows a red hue. This is not at all red. It’s a medium brown.

I like these, especially for the price. The colors are pretty (I've tried pinkies up and the berry color), the product doesn't really taste/smell like anything, and it stays where I put it reasonably well for a lipgloss-textured product. It isn't the stainy-est stain I have used by far, but if you get a good layer on your lips and leave it be for an hour plus, you do get some color deposition and what does stick/stain is not blotchy, assuming you put it on lips that are decently moisturized/non-crunchy (you know what i mean), which is necessary for most stains in my experience. The amount of color deposition/staining isn't great... but dude, it's $6. It's a nice, inoffensive(taste/smell-wise), richly colored lip gloss that tints your lips a bit. For the price, I'm happy.

While the product color and consistency is quite nice, the applicator wand is WAY too short to reach probably 80% of the product. Now I only can apply at home, where I have other tools for reaching into the bottom of the container.

I've seen a lot of reviews don't seem to understand how this product works, so i decided to leave a review. As a gloss I think it would be too messy. But as a stain it's amazing! I have several colors and like them all. I make sure my lips are dried off before applying (applying EXACLTY where you want it because it will be noticeable if you have an uneven line) I leave it on for around 15 minutes while I finish my eye makeup and wipe off add some chapstick or clear gloss and boom! Perfect color and lasts most of the day (depending how much kissing,drinking, eating ect you may be doing of course). You must note, the color that is on the applicator is NOT the color you will have in the end. I recommend testing it on your skin to see the color you will get personally. But what they advertise on the website is what you should get when using it as a stain :)

Color is not mauve, it’s brown. Unpleasant smell. Does not stain lips. Accentuates lip lines & wrinkles. I’ve tried to make this work but there is not one redeeming quality.

Definitely not a stain. It is a simple lip gloss but does leave my lips feeling moisturized. However it has to be reapplied frequently, every 30-45 minutes. Packaging is appealing but comes with a very small amount. Will use it but won’t repurchase.

Another excellent product and great deal from Elf. I got Berry Queen, which is such a great, clear, strong shade. Even after I lick it off, the color stays for quite a while. There is no scent or flavor to this. This is far better than Clairins' version, which is at least 5x more expensive.
