A: Thank you for reaching out to us. The Easy Off Heavy Duty Oven Cleaner has fumes that are corrosive. It contains Sodium Hydroxide (Lye). Causes burns to skin and eyes on contact. Harmful if swallowed. Contents under pressure. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, mucous membranes and clothing. Do not ingest. Use only with adequate ventilation. Avoid breathing spray mist. Q: 'You Tube" etc., demonstrate that "Easy Off" can be successfully used to remove paint from glass surfaces ! (w/ Brillo pad or razor scraper tool). Q: re: use precautions for Easy Off's toxicity ??

Avoid excessive use on glass. Do not use on exterior oven surfaces, aluminum, chrome, baked enamel. Do not use on self-cleaning or continuous cleaning ovens. Avoid spraying over pilot light. Ruined my oven! Don’t buy this!

This is a chemical cleaner, and even though I followed the instructions, it severely corroded the surface of my oven. The damage is extensive, and I’m extremely upset! The smell is also very strong and lingers even after multiple cleanings. Later, I found out online that this smell can release toxic fumes when heated, posing a health risk. It’s better to use gentle and non-toxic products!

This is some heavy duty stuff, but it doesn’t even work that well! It stinks and requires a lot of scrubbing to remove from your oven. I accidentally sprayed a small area of the outside of my oven door while using this and it stripped some of the paint and left the area feeling grainy. Be more careful than me! But also maybe try gentler products before resorting to this.

It did take off years of baked on stain from an old aluminum dutch oven. I had to scrub a little and didn't remove everything, but, like I said YEARS of baked on stuff. I just thought that the sprayer was not that great, that is the reason for the 4 stars.

I used to use other recommended products for cleaning my stainless steal and enamel pots and pans. Not anymore! I spray on the heavy duty easy off and let them sit a couple ours and all the stains and fried on gunk come right off with a scrub pad.
