Educational Insights Design & Drill Bolt Buddies Plane with Electric Toy Drill, Preschool STEM Toy, Ages 3+

It's brilliant, well made and enjoyable for my daughter

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My four year old was very excited to try this toy out. She's very into building and engineering. Overall it's very easy for the little ones to figure out once you explain the concept. I do wish it was less bulky but it is what it is, still a very fun activity.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the moment my 4 year old got his hands on the box for the Design & Drill Bolt Buddies Plane he was fully engaged in play. From the using the box itself to extend his imagination with the runway and various pop outs, putting together & taking apart the plane itself, to breaking out markers to add his own creative design to the box.. this toy has brought him hours of play and me, hours of knowing the peace and quite that fell over our house was due to engrossed play and not little hands causing trouble! Even his 7 year old sister couldn't wait to get her hands on the plane and join in on the play. The pieces are varied enough to allow play with switching around the bolts and little characters as well as plenty of fun imagination with the built toy as a whole. The one issue we quickly came across was using the drill to remove the bolts. It can screw the bolts in just fine, with a clicking noise that indicates the bolt is screwed in as far as it needs to go. However when you attempt to reverse the screw back out the drill simply clicks over. If you gently loosen the bolts with your fingers beforehand the drill can take over from there with no problem. It was a source of struggle and frustration at first but now he's gotten into the groove of using his fingers or the bottom of the bird to get the screw started. I do wish the drill could unscrew things as easily as it was able to screw them in but I do not think it is a deal breaker in any way.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter Is 4 and really enjoyed this plane she did need assistance from her dad to build it but she got the hang on it and plays it by herself. We really liked that it has the road for landing . It's made of nice sturdy plastic there really no cons to it she learned a lot from it. Great brand and toy perfect size for their hands

It was a great activity to do together. She really enjoyed using the drill and working with her hands. I think this will be a great toy to use for a couple of years as she grows!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter is 2.5 and really enjoyed this toy. She needed help figuring out how the drill worked, but once she got it, she loved. My only suggestion would be to label the switch that makes the drill go forward and reverse so that kids know which direction is which. Otherwise, great and engaging toy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My almost three year old is obsessed with the Educational Insights Design & Drill Bolt Buddies Plane. She likes to drill and undrill, bolt and rebolt, takeoff and land and make zooming airplane sounds for up to an hour at a time. She makes up names and adventures for the pilot and his penguin companion, and then start their adventures again the next day. I am obsessed with the Educational Insights Design & Drill Bolt Buddies Plane because when it's out it means she's playing independently, learning STEM skills, and using her imagination, all while I am likely sitting down and resting after chasing an almost three year old all day. This toy is equally captivating for child and parent, for very different but equally compelling reasons. I cannot recommend it enough for the parent who loves seeing their child learn and create while also engaging in independent play.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son really enjoyed this toy at first. He was excited to use the drill and put it together. Once it was together, he played with it for a few minutes and now hasn't touched it since. I think if I encouraged him to take it apart and put it back together, hed like it but I think he may be too old for it. He is 3.5. My 5 month old son loved holding the plane so maybe as he gets a bit older it will be a more suitable toy for hi.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, this is a fun toy for kids. I have 2 who played with it for a little while. They seemed way more interested in just the drill for the most part than actually putting the toy together. I thought it would be more actually building it, but it's really just drilling in some screws in a few holes and that's about it. Also, it comes with 3 clear pieces which I do not like! Not a good idea with kids and parents stepping on them when you can't find the pieces to it. I think it would be more fun for kids if there was more involvement building things.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love the drill and screw airplane set so much! The drill works surprisingly well to take the screw in and out, love how it actually drills screws in and out. Thought my 3 year old would have a hard time but the tool works really well. The one drawback is the box is comes in has these paper pop outs, one large one that makes putting all the small pieces back into the box sort of useless to store them all. I think the product doesn't even need the pop outs… great that the box turns into a runway but the pop outs are not quite necessary.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My four year old daughter loves this toy! She enjoys putting the plane together with the toy drill and taking it apart to do it all over again. I love that it not only teaches her real life skills, such as using a drill, but also encourages problem solving. Her favorite part is definitely the drill itself. She uses it to "fix" everything around the house!

The only flaw was the screws would get so tight the drill couldn't get them off and he would need help over and over again making him a little frustrated since he likes to be independent. The toy over all was very cute and well designed and we loved that the box got to be part of him playing with the toy!
