It was easy for her to figure out how to use the pen and the book together, and she really seems to enjoy playing with it. I really like that it gives visual and audible positive reinforcement when the correct answer is chosen.

She loves this activity and it's quiet and easy for her to take with us wherever we go or to do at home. It's not messy and really reinforces what she is learning!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My child absolutely loves this! She's 5 years old and about to go to Kindergarten. I love how this is going to give her a leg up in kindergarten. She has so much fun with it and gets so excited when she she's the green light come on telling her that her answer was correct. Another thing I really liked was that I could explain what the page was asking of her and after that it was mostly a hands off experience. This kept her busy for hours.

It's educational, fun, interactive, and engaging all in one. When I have to put it away my kids beg to keep their dot book out longer. I definitely am going to purchase more books and I highly recommend this product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This book has been so much fun. I homeschool my children and my youngest hasn't been the most engaged with school. He wants to learn but finds worksheets boring, so I've had to think outside the box to teach him letters and sounds. This by far has been the biggest hit for him. The lights and sounds reinforce the things he is learning. I also love that I can be close by and he can do the pages himself, so it's perfect for him to do after regular school is done and I'm about tapped out for the day.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids love the Hot Dots Let's Learn Reading Book. The book seems to be made very well with thicker pages. There are 50 pages full of a variety of different learning activities from finding the word to filling in the blank to unscrambling letters to help your child with words and reading. It also comes with reward stickers. My son loves using this book and his face lights up with joy when the pen turns green! Definitely worth it if you're trying to teach your little ones how to recognize letters and words. I would recommend it for ages 5 to 7. If your child does not know how to read you may need to help them.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This workbook coincides perfectly with what my daughter is learning at school. There are just enough activities for each exercise to not feel repetitive, and enough variety to keep my daughter's attention. The exercises get progressively more difficult and I like that we'll be able to continue to use this throughout the school year and it will further expound on skills my daughter is learning in kindergarten. I also like that she gets instant feedback on her answer with the green/red light pen. I have to admit that I don't love the sound effects! Haha My daughter finds them fun though! I like that my daughter and I can use the book without the pen too. Sometimes I put the book into a dry erase pocket folder and let her circle or write in the answers for me to check. My daughter has also shared this with her friend who speaks English as a second language. As you can imagine, he has a harder time with the activities, but I think this is great practice for him too. The pen is especially handy for him so he can practice on his own and maybe even allow his parents to use the workbook too to improve on their English speaking and writing. All in all, I think this is a wonderful addition for someone who is just starting school to get additional practice at home.

It's been a fun way to practice phonics, sight words, and word recognition with them. The pages are colorful, and the pictures are cute! I appreciate that it can be used with or without sound effects, and it's been great for them to get instant feedback whether their answer was right or wrong! I've noticed that it's given an incorrect answer a few times when used on an uneven surface that makes it difficult to hold the pen directly upright, so I recommend it for use on a flat surface!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Educational Hot Dots Learn Kindergarten Reading book is a great tool to have when helping your kids start their learning to read journey. I got the hot Dots book for my five year old and she really likes it. She loves when the pen glows green indication she got the right answer, and knows that she needs to try hard at finding the right answer when the pen glows red. She actually thinks the pen is a magical, because according to her it magically knows when she has chosen the right or wrong answer. The book has 50 pages and comes with plenty of different activities. From identifying letters, matching pictures to words, matching same sound words, to many more activities.

Compared to just a regular workbook you can use it over and over again wich I think will help them with learning in the sense that you can repeat it until they learned it.

This book is a great interactive way to give children extra practice without making them overly stressed over being wrong. It comes with a book and a pen (requires two AAA batteries) and has different exercises to find the missing letters by sounding them out. If the answer is correct, the pen lights up green; if incorrect – red. It is also great for beginner readers. I'd hight recommend this book to Kindergarten and early elementary children!

The pen makes it more fun letting her know if it was right/wrong. The only downfall is if the child cant read the title, the parent needs too so the pen works right.

She is in first grade, so she does already have some basic letter/sound recognition. The interactive pen allows her to learn independently. I hear her trying out each sound in the book, then getting excited when the pen confirms her correct answer. Overall, I believe this is a valuable tool for a young child learning how to read.
