After reading this book my daughter got upset because she thought I skipped pages. So we read it again.. she was very unimpressed and said that’s it? She’s 6 and really wanted it because the cover was cute and is looking forward to teaching her baby sis how to use the potty. It just wasn’t interesting enough. Thoughout the book the elephants says no to the potty on every page. At night she realizes she does want to go. What made her want to go though? Why was the potty so special now? At point the grandma gave ice cream as an incentive to go potty. Elephant said no potty, and still got the ice cream. All this book made my kid say after reading it was “ is that it” and “ can we have ice cream now?” Hopefully I can return it. I already have a lot of random books with cute illustrations that my kids aren’t interested in.

So i got this book yesterday, and i thought it looked cute, i have a toddler who is currency potty training and so the whole story til the end wasn't really that good of an idea. I get the dialog but to say "no potty no" pretty much all the way till the end isn't setting a good example. I wanted to hesitate while reading this book bc i was thinking what? Why do they keep putting "no"in there.. thats just teaching my toddler to refuse the potty bc as exciting as the ending "might be" it also repeated said no to the potty and for that to be repeated so many times, THAT is what is going to stick rather then the ending. You don't want to teach bad behavior. Again i get the book but it's not setting the best example to a potty training toddler. Will be returning this book.
