Q: Are there lids for ember mug?
A: Ember now has lids for both the 10oz and 14oz ceramic mugs! The great thing about the lid is it not only helps prevent spills, it doubles the life of the battery!

Q: Does the white version stain at all, and if so is it easy to clean/remove the stain?
A: Mine stained in about a month. And I rinse mine every day I use it and probably a handwashing once a week.

For best care and maintenance, we would recommend rinsing your mug with water soon after finishing your beverage to avoid letting it sit on the paint for too long. For best results, we also recommend hand-washing the Ember with warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft sponge.

Q: On my copper mug the copper color has chipped off on the bottom. Not all the way but 2 scrapes I am concerned I’m ingesting copper particles.??? Very concerned

Q: Is it safe to pour boiling water directly in this mug? For example, i boil water and want to make a cup of tea. i'd normally pour between 190F to 200F water directly in the cup to steep the tea bag...
A: The recommendation is to use hot water, not boiling as the boiling water could overheat the battery.

Q: Do you have to sign up for an account to begin using this device? If so, do I have to consent to data collection like location services?
A: The Ember Mug App does require an account to adjust the set temperature, however the Ember mug will heat to the default set temperature of 135F without the app. Android does require location services to be turned on for bluetooth. We also have an option to opt out of sharing data with Ember.

Q: How does the battery recharge? USB or plug?
A: Hi eileen, thanks for reaching out! Each Ember Mug is sold fully packaged with a charging coaster included, along with a US 2-prong power source wall plug-in that can accept anything between 100VAC and 240VAC.
