Using personal stories of surrender and the life of David as a framework, she encourages you to cling to God alone. Includes a 10-week companion Bible study.Book Synopsis
Trusting God. It's such a cliché. Yet nothing means more to our heavenly Father than when we surrender our lives completely to him and choose to believe he has our best in mind. David modeled that kind of deliberate dependence: as a shepherd boy, as a man running for his life, as a king who made grave mistakes. In both triumph and failure, David looked to God rather than to himself. In Embracing Trust, Joanna Weaver, bestselling author of the runaway hit Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World, shares personal stories, practical tips, and life-changing principles gleaned from Scripture. If you struggle with disappointment from the past, frustration with the present, or fear of the future, Joanna invites you to trust in the Lord with all your heart. Relinquishing control and putting your hope in a forever-faithful Father--that's the beautiful secret of unshakeable faith.
Includes a 10-week companion Bible study.

Twenty years in her heart and released at the perfect time to minister to ours, Embracing Trust is a work of anchoring and healing. From the war-torn state of our lives after the last few years both in our culture and in the church, Joanna’s words remind us of God’s sovereign plan. Embracing Trust is a tapestry of examples and truths woven together to create a rich and beautiful image of who we are as children of God. Without holding back, Joanna Weaver shares Scripture along with her own personal struggles and experiences, and with insight from many others. Joanna shows how our own unmet expectations of others and God can keep us from fully trusting our heavenly Father. If you want to let go of things that keep you from trusting God and build an unshakable trust, I encourage you to read Embracing Trust. I am about to read Embracing Trust for the second time at a slower pace and do the 10-week Study Guide provided at the end of the book!

Trust has always been the most complicated part about my relationship with God. I could trust that He loved me and trust that I would go to heaven one day, but I struggled to trust God with my day-to-day. I’ve been a fan of Joanna Weaver forever but this book… it’s the one I really need right now. This book reminded me that I can trust God with it all—my plans, fears, hurts, all of it. In addition to speaking powerful truth from God’s word, she gave practical tools for laying down the idols I had setup in my life and practices for maintaining my spirit and making God the center of my day. So if you too have some trust issues, I encourage you to allow God to work on that part of your heart. I can only imagine what He will do in and through you if you let Him.

Embracing Trust by Joanna Weaver is about trusting the Lord with all your heart, but it’s not just a discussion of theology. It is a hands-on approach with stories from scriptures as well as practical tips on doing the same in our own lives. The point that resonated most with me is letting go and holding on. It is letting go of everything – fear, doubt, anxiety - and holding on to God who loves us and only wants the best for us. It is only when we let go that we can open our hands to receive the blessings He wants to give us, blessings above what we can imagine for ourselves. I found this book at a time when I felt the tug of the Holy Spirit calling me to trust Him to provide for me instead of running myself ragged trying to do it myself. As I worked through the book, I saw the Holy Spirit at work in so many ways. There is a depth of insight and information that will help you wherever you are in your walk with God. Joanna is open and honest about her struggles, and I believe it will touch your heart and challenge you to a deeper walk with God.

Joanna has done it again! This book speaks right to the heart and is so practical for everyone who ever struggles to trust the Lord with all the things!! I love the stories shared and vulnerability in these pages! I laughed, cried a little and nodded in agreement as my Kindle “pages” were highlighted and noted over and over again. “Embracing Trust” helped me remember I’m human but not alone. I felt like it was rooting me on in digging deeper to trust the only trustworthy one as we navigate this life! A 5 star book that I will refer to again and again!

When I turned the final page, I wanted to immediately start reading it again! Each chapter spoke deeply to my heart. Do I trust God? Can I trust God? Am I content? Who is my source of contentment? Joanna has a beautiful way of holding up a mirror so that we can see ourselves in light of God's Word. This book is for today. She shares that it was her desire to write it years ago. I believe that God's timing is perfect. It's for NOW. Read it! Digest it! Be open to what God may do in your life as you learn to trust Him and hang on to only Him.

Have you ever read a book that completely skewered, yet somehow soothed, your soul—each in the best possible way? I just finished reading Embracing Trust: The Art of Letting Go and Holding On to a Forever-Faithful God by Joanna Weaver and I’ll admit, I both ouched and ahhh-ed my way through its beautifully-written, burgeoning-with-truth pages. In Joanna’s moving personal stories (hers and others) and relatable metaphors, I recognized my own tendency to wander the maze of human mistrust towards God, especially when life scrapes away all hope and circumstances make absolutely zero sense. (Ouch.) But then my wise in-real-life friend, Joanna, weaves together solid scriptural truths with fresh perspectives on why genuinely trusting God makes all the sense in the world—why it’s both logical and liberating to those of us with wary, weary souls. (Ahhh.) This is a book sturdy enough to handle (and challenge) your doubts while fostering your exuberant embrace of trust in a forever-faithful God. Get ready to be skewered and soothed as you learn to let go and hold on. This is your next life-changing read.

I'm still reading and absorbing this book. It's one of those books that grip the head and the heart. Joanna Weaver's book, Embracing Trust is a beautiful illustration of an almost lifelong journey taken to fully realize the, "already and not yet," truth of the Kingdom life we are called to live. Joanna shows us that in seeking first the Kingdom of God we have to learn how to let go of our own kingdom, and grasp hold of the love and goodness of our forever faithful God. I love all of Joanna Weaver's books, but this one is now my favorite. It will be one I will keep on my shelf to refer to again and again. If you wonder what it looks like to fully trust God, to be fully loved by a good and gracious God, let this book be the light that illuminates your path...back to God and His Word.

WOW! Embracing Trust is one of those books that grabs you and doesn’t let you go! So many insights on how we should view trusting God with personal stories that bring her points home; the author captivates from page 1 to page to page 269. This is more than a spiritual how-to book on trust. It is a guide-book on how to embrace trust in our every day lives…well, EVERYDAY! Joanna’s book was an eye-opening, challenging, encouraging, liberating, and transforming read for me. I was so moved by it, that I chose it for the first book of Bible>Books>Beverages Christian book club that the Women’s Ministry Team is sponsoring at our church starting in 2 weeks. This book is a “must read” for all believers and would be a great tool to share with non-believer friends struggling with fear, disillusionment, doubt, mistrust, a broken-heart or simply exhausted with the trials of everyday life.
