Embroidery Pouch Kit - Mondo Llama™: Craft Activity Kit with Floss & Needle, Art & Design Theme, Adult Knitting Set

I received this as a gift so I’m determined to complete it, but I would not be if I had purchased it for myself. I wound up using my own needle because the one it came with was garbage. I wound up using my own thread because the thread that it came with was garbage. I wound up using my own hoop because… well… you get the idea. Garbage. If I were a beginner, this kit would probably discourage me from ever picking up an embroidery project again.

Very easy direction for first time stitch kit. The experience was very fun! They provided extra threads, and I found the needle to be very sturdy. The only negative is that I finish the project and need to purchase a new kit.

The needle broke almost immediately and then the threader did, too, when I tried to use it to thread a needle I had laying around. Had I not had my own needles, this kit would’ve been useless. The instructions are also difficult to follow and not beginner / kid friendly— the instructions aren’t very clear, helpful, or easy. I regret spending my money on this- I should’ve just bought the pieces separately.

Easy to follow instructions, nice slow project to work on! Needle is a little bent already, should include two just in case. Also needs an iron on or some type of backing if it’s going to be a functional bag-something I’ll do myself before giving this to my daughter. Love it. First time embroiderer and enjoying it.

The needle broke while trying to thread it, didn’t even get to do one stitch. And no back up needles included so now I can’t even start it unless I go out to buy a needle… looks like it’ll be pretty if I ever get to actually do it now

Needle didn’t have a hole to thread, so useless.

Needle eye broke after less than ten stitches.

Needle threader broke in 5 seconds. Needle broke in 2 minutes. Very cheap. Very flimsy.

The threader immediately broke, then the needle eye shredded the embroidery thread. Hopefully I will have enough for the project using a different needle because that thread is now useless.

The needle and the needle threader both broke within 20 minutes. There are no backup needles so now I can’t use it

As someone who’s done several embroidery projects, I don’t think this is very beginner friendly. The instructions are minimal, leaving out how to start a your first stitch or how to tuck strings when you get to the end. They say to pull a single strand when they instruct how to thread, then say 2 strand next to each stitch. The stitch explanations themselves were also lacking. One didn’t even have numbers to indicate how to do the stitch. Also, it’s physically impossible to center the pattern on the hoop - the zipper gets in the way. Additionally, the quality of the needle was severally lacking. I had to switch out very quickly because the one with the kit nearly broke on my first few stitches.

Needle broke in half after two uses. I know I can get a new needle but you shouldn't have to.

I like that this craft can serve a purpose once it’s done. I only stitched the outline of the pattern to save time.

I've never done embroidery before but have always wanted to try. I thought this would be a great way to get my feet wet. I was wrong. Their explaination of the stitches are terrible, the bag barely fit in the hoop, the hoop itself is flimsey and the thread came apart while sewing.

An interesting experience, I haven't tried handmade much before. This weekend, I started trying it out with my wife, and she only made another product (by the way, it's also very interesting). Because I don't have much experience in handmade, I need more detailed guidance. At the same time, this combination bag equipped me with all the tools, it's really good!

After making this bag, I can take it out with me, and at the same time, I have gained happiness in the process of making it. All the items in the kit are of good quality. If I have other friends who want to try it, I will recommend this product to them.

As others have stated, it is very very poorly made. Broken needle after 3 stitches, poor yarn, bad hoop.

I use Mondo Llama kits a lot for when I nanny, so I wanted to try a more adult kit for myself. This was my first time embroidering. I broke the needle after about three stems and the hoop is way to big/flimsy. I got the hoop on after about ten minutes and then broke the needle about 5 minutes later. Thankfully I have better needles at home. But otherwise this kit works for maybe beginners. I have never had an issue with any of the kids sets, but this one caused some problems. But I am honestly enjoying the learning process. I am glad I bought this on sale and not full price.
