It was easy to set up. It's printing speed is a little slow compared what i replaced. The Photp Software wants me to purchase the Drivers so I can run that software. It should be free.

Bought this hoping to use it in my craft room for a variety of projects including iron on, photos, etc. I had issues right away printing wallet photos on 4x6 photo paper. It was frustrating to get it to print straight and borderless. Flash forward and I needed to print on some printable iron-on paper. It jammed, black ink now gets on the edges of any new sheets. I wouldn't print borderless. Photoshop wouldn't even print directly to the machine. I had to save as a jpg and even then getting the colors right on faces was difficult. It does sit idle for a long period (weeks/months) and it will run through a system check to keep it from clogging. The output tray is weird and very flimsy. I'm not even sure it works the way it was intended and I can see it getting broken off very easily. The machine is in no way a tank compared to the R2000 I used to have. But that took cartridges and clogged to the point where I couldn't use it anymore.

Perfect printing. Ink is fantastic and cheap. It seems to be extremely durable even scrubbing doesn’t harm it. I tested it with acetone, no running! It’s a very high resolution imagery printer. But I only buy Epson branded products.

A technical marvel of automation from setup to printing. The image quality is astounding considering how so few ink colours can produce client-grade output on not only Epson papers, but also on 3rd party stock for which those companies produce ICC profiles. Whether a document or an image, the printing speed is more than satisfactory considering it's not a high volume production unit. Running a print job from an iPad/iPhone is seamless and the desktop photo printing app is easy to use and offers professional level features. One feature that sold us is the replaceable purge tank: so many printers in this category without this feature simply stop working when the tank is full - nothing can be done to fix them and the only option is to toss them into landfill! Ink tank levels rarely show any usage which is amazing which brings me to the biggest selling point for us - ink costs. NOW WE CAN AFFORD TO PRINT OUR IMAGES, THANK YOU, EPSON!!

I bought this printer on black Friday 2024 and I am extremely happy with it. I am using it to print 4x6 photos from pictures on my phone. The printing time is slower than my old printer but the image quality is vastly superior. I use my old printer for larger productions runs of word documents. But I use the Epson 8550 for anything with an image. The Epson can also handle B&W beautifully. But if you need 100 copies it is a bit slow. My other printer is a laser jet. The borderless printing of the Epson 8550 is very impressive. There isn't any white border. The calibration process is very thorough so this accounts for the excellent image quality. Filling the EcoTank is a very simple, clean process. The only negative for this printer is that the paper tray only holds 100 sheets which is a very minor issue. I can easily reload the paper tray as needed. This is an excellent photo printer for home use.

The printer might work okay but I cannot get all of the features to work because it is the worst setup software I have ever encountered. I set up an account and now it will not let me login; stating the email is wrong. The printer is on my network and I can print to it but when I run the software it cannot find the printer. Cannot set up printer connect to make changes. Just the worst setup software ever.

I recently received ET-8550 printer, set up was very easy, and connecting my iMac wirelessly was also easy. Downloading the driver from the Epson website was straightforward and easy. I just printed Christmas cards on thicker paper similar to lightweight card stock and the printer worked flawlessly. The color is great and the printing speed was a lot faster than I expected. Being a brand new printer, I can’t say anything about wear or usage trouble. I am very familiar with Epson commercial large format printers and they were workhorses in the business I retired from. Because of Epson’s reliability and well built construction, it helped me decide to pick the ET-8550 printer for my personal use. I would highly recommend this printer. I hope it provides me many years of reliable service as the commercial large format printer did.

Have now used this printer for 3 weeks, printed off dozens of pictures on both glossy & matte Epson papers and am very satisfied with the results. My only frustration was that I set it up first on WiFi, and many sheets came out only half printed, ruining that print. I seriously thought the unit was damaged & considered exchanging it, but set it up with a direct ethernet cable: no more premature ejection problems! This is my 5th Epson Photo Printer & by far the best. I'm very pleased with the print quality.

When you buy the Espon 8550 Printer for the first time, it's going to print out blank pieces of paper for a little bit, Do a print head cleaning on you printer, you have to do it a billion times because it's trying to break the printer in. It took 6 hours to get the printer working. So far I like the printer, it just a food for thought if anyone interested into buying a Espon Printer.

I have three ET-8550 printers, and all of them have had the 'Transportation Locked' error at some point. Why include a feature if you can’t make it work properly? And don’t get me started on the paper jams. All of my Epson printers are down because of that. I even had to temporarily close my business because of it. It blows my mind that you can buy a laptop or a fridge and they’ll last 10 years without any issues, but if a printer lasts more than a month, you’re lucky.

I have had this printer for a couple of years. It works great for the most part. However, borderless printing never works. I have tried to make the paper bigger, click borderless, stretch everything to the edges of the project. It never prints borderless. There is always about an eighth inch space around the outside. Is there a trick, or an update I need to do?
