ERTL 1/16 Steiger PTA 325 "Stars N Stripes" Spirit of 76 4WD Tractor with Dual Wheels Prestige Collection 44397

In honor of the United States Bicentennial on July 4, 1976, Steiger contracted Walt's Body Shop in Fargo, ND to paint Steiger tractors with American Flag Stars & Stripes colors. From July 1975 through early 1976, this "Spirit of '76" decoration was offered on Cougar II, Panther II, Tiger II, Cougar III and Panther III tractors as a $1,200 paint option when ordering the tractor new. Only one Steiger Panther Series III tractor, introduced in 1976, caught the tail end of this offering. Of the 37 total “Spirit of '76” Steigers produced, some were repainted Steiger green in the 80s to improve their resale value. Very few remain in their red, white and blue colors today. This piece of American history is now available for the first time in 1/16 scale. Made by ERTL and part of the exceptionally detailed Prestige Collection, this die-cast metal 1/16 Steiger Panther III 4WD boasts the same American Flag Stars & Stripes decoration offered in 1975 and 1976, without the $1,200 price tag! The production comes in unique Spirit of '76 packaging, making it great for display inside and outside the box. Made out of a die-cast metal front and rear body, the tractor features die-cast metal wheels with rubber tires, clear cab windows that reveal a detailed cab interior, an openable hood that reveals a detailed engine, rear fender lights, a raiseable and lowerable three-point hitch and authentic decals. It has approximate dimensions of 16.75in L x 9.5in W x 10.25in H. According to the manufacturer, this replica is recommended for ages 14+ years, meaning it is for display only and not for play.
