It's not that I necessarily dislike this book in and of itself. However, this has some activities selected from the "Exploring Nature: Activity Book for Kids," nothing new (though perhaps reworded or reformatted) that I could see upon leafing through quickly. It is mostly a blank book for recording stuff. Some people might appreciate having these activities included in the journal for convenience and portability's sake, but I would prefer more activities to choose from, since the ones included are fairly obvious (look around you; use your words to describe; draw it), given that it's a journal. If a portable "guide" is up for sale, I feel it would be more helpful to have the full set of activities available as cards (perhaps on a ring) that one can take or leave as necessary, rather than just leaving out a bunch of things. If a "journal" is what you want, then this is convenient. If you already have your own preferred journal, or if you want to use more in your journal than pen, pencil, or crayon (it won't take paints well), then get the "activity book."
