[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 9 year old niece is becoming quite the budding artist. As we all know drawing faces and bodies are one of the tougher things to draw. So I got this with her in mind to give her pointers and tips when drawing a face. It has many different options to chose from and easy to follow instructions. The only draw back is its fairly simplistic so it won't provide instruction for very long but she was happy enough to go through the techniques.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for my 8 year old son but my husband has been enjoying it too! It came with absolutely everything needed to learn to draw faces. The instructions were very detailed and even taught some of the tips I learned in my high school art class, such as dividing the face into quarters so everything is symmetrical. The pencils are great and came in a variety of skin tone colors and the color wheel is fantastic. It is made to line up with the muse’s skin so you can adequately match up the colors. The mirror, and easel make it fun and easy to do self portraits. I also appreciated the included eraser and sharpener. My son loved the coloring pages most. If you have a budding artist, young or old, this is a perfect package that includes everything they’ll need as they work on their skills. Highly recommended!

World Colors How to Draw Faces

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently received this Farber-Castel World Colors: How to Draw Faces kit. I really enjoyed this kit. I like the skin tone matching wheel. And while I was able to match my skin tone I think there could be a little more tones on there. There are three double sided skin tone colored pencils and I would have preferred if they were their own individual pencil. I do think there needs to be additional variety of peach, tan, and brown shades for diversity of skin tone and hair color. I also would have preferred additional shades of green, blue, and again brown for different eye colors. The instructions were simple and easy to follow. I like that there was three phases to practice first with pencil shading, next practice drawing on transfer paper, and then drawing on drawing paper. I like that there was a variety of shapes for eyes, noses, and mouths. However, I would have liked if there were also different options for eye brows and ears. I liked that it came with a mirror stand. I would have preferred if there was 20-30 sheets of drawing paper. Overall, I enjoyed this kit.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Drawing faces is one of the hardest things to learn. This kit is awesome for learning and I love the diversity and inclusion of the mixable skin tone pencils and color wheel provided. For younger kids and those just starting out, the traceable faces are great. All very handy if you want to work towards drawing realistic faces!

Good kit, nice pencils

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kit is nice. It comes with a variety of skin tone pencils with instructions on how to layer them to create more tones. It also comes with some pages to color in so you can practice layering the colors which I found to be a nice touch. It has a few pages of heavy duty sketch paper for your portraits and even a little mirror for self portraits. I think this is well thought out for young artists. I do think it’s light on instruction and leans too heavily on tracing as a means of showing how to draw faces. In the end though, all that matters is that my 8 year old really enjoyed this and will continue practicing.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This book was great for my aspiring artist son. The directions were clear and easy and he really liked being able to add something more to his drawings with actual faces instead of a more abstract component. He has definitely leveled up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since we like to draw i thought this would be a cool set to start out with. I was a little skeptical at first but honestly my 6 year old has already been able to duplicate the face sketches. This is perfect for beginners and even professionals. It comes with a lot of sketches to copy and step by step instructions as well as many other items like pencils and paint. A must have for any artist!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m not really good at drawing and I’m guessing I’ll draw like the average 6th grader. Being able to use the see through paper to copy a face off the instruction paper helped a lot to get a feel for it. I felt accomplished drawing my husbands face. I however could not get the colors to blend together on the see through paper. The finaL result was far from a master piece but the best face I ever drawn.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn’t sure if my children would enjoy this so much since it’s more detail than just a regular coloring book, but to my surprise they enjoyed drawing “themselves”. I love that it lays out the tracing and you can match your skin to the pencil! It’s definitely a project we will continue to use and maybe they will be able to free hand portraits in the future!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such a great kit! I have a son that is so talented and loves to draw. He has a hard time with faces though and this really was great for him! It came with paper, faces that were outlined and pencils. Along with just regular color pencils it had blending pencils to help with learning how to properly shade. I didn’t even know this sort of thing existed. It it such a neat tool for someone who is learning how to draw a face or even just perfect their skill. I would love to look into other products from this brand now!!
