Q&A(19)

Q: Does this have a very strong pine odor?

submitted by dedeMay - 8 years ago
  • A: Very pleasant pine scent. Like walking in a pine forest.

submitted byJohnnyMoe - 1 year ago
  • A: No--it's more of a wood-shaving smell, and it's pretty mild. It's strongest right when you pour it out of the bag, but it dissipates pretty quickly.

submitted bylifeboatb - 8 years ago
  • A: no --no odor what so ever i have been using this and only this for 11 years it is great

submitted bypatte - 8 years ago
  • A: No this doesn’t have a strong odor at all. The only litter our cat would use. Very good litter.

submitted byKim - 8 years ago
  • A: Returnable is this product

submitted byDK - 10 months ago
  • A: No. Its the best litter I've ever used

submitted byMicia - 8 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your question, dedeMay. There are no added mineral or clump aids in the Feline Pine Original. Variation in product scent would be due to natural variation. Q: Does this litter track out of the catbox and around house, like the clay litter does?

submitted by TJ - 7 years ago
  • A: I have a shifter box and I give it a little shake every day when I clean it out and a litter mat outside the box. Only rarely do I see a few shavings.

submitted byNice Rug - 3 months ago
  • A: At first when the pellets are whole, it will not track. However, if you leave it for a long time whithout replacing ( a week or so), you will begin to see saw dust outside the box.

submitted byJustMe - 7 years ago
  • A: Not at all. I love this product and will never use another cat litter. Sometimes a few pellets are kicked out of the box when the cat is scratching, but it is right there by the box and can be picked up and put back in. Best litter ever!

submitted byfrmrhstprof - 7 years ago
  • A: This is the best litter I’ve ever used. As for tracking outside the litter box, I only have to pick up a few pellets each week. Very minimal tracking ( naturally it depends on how full your box is). Cats love it and so do I

submitted byKristyATL - 7 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your question, TJ. Added benefits to using our Feline Pine include less dust and tracking. Q: Question 2: are these pellets any different than the pine pellets burned in woodstoves, which are 40 lbs for 6-7.00? Thanks!

submitted by TJ - 7 years ago
  • A: no they actually look like rabbit pellet food but beige i have been using this product for 11 years they also tell you to use this if your cat gets surgery or if someone in your home has allergies the pellets are just made of pine and they become a powder also can flush down toilet --put in garden --no smell --no powdery smoke like the clay cat liters have when you pour it in hope this helps patte

submitted bypatte - 7 years ago
  • A: “Feline Pine has been put through a special process that removes the volatile pine oil that has been found to harm cats. Some stove pellets still have that oil and they have been found to be harmful!”

submitted byAnimalLover - 7 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your question, TJ. We can only speak about our product. The Feline Pine Original Cat Litter is 100% kiln dried pine; it contains abietic acid, which is a resin found in all pines, mineral oil, and pine oil. It is made from sawdust byproduct from lumber mills is collected and compressed into tiny pellets. If you have any further questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to call/text us at 800-833-9532. Our team is available to help Monday - Friday, from 9 - 5 Eastern. We'll be glad to help! Please mention your case number: 07407078, when contacting us.

Q: This is clumping or non-clumping? The title & description say clumping, picture shows non-clumping, the bag should be purple one for clumping litter.

submitted by Frd - 8 months ago
  • A: Thank you for your question, Frd. Our Original Feline Pine has a blue banner across the bag; it is a non-clumping litter. The Feline Pine Scoop Clumping Cat Litter has a purple banner across the bag. We hope this helps take away what stinks about being a cat parent. If you have any further questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to call us at 800-833-9532. Our team is available to help Monday - Friday, from 9 - 5 Eastern. We'll be glad to help! Q: I have a litter that's similar, I tried scooping the poop out and must of stirred up the urine smell. Do you leave this alone and just completely change out weekly? I've only used clumped litter. HELP

submitted by auntzissy - 3 years ago
  • A: We’re sorry to learn of your experience, auntzissy. Feline Pine Original is made from 100% pine. Sawdust byproduct from lumber mills is collected and compressed into tiny pellets. These pellets act like tiny sponges that absorb urine and break apart into sawdust. You scoop the solid waste daily, and gently shake the box so that the good pellets will float to the top and the sawdust drops to the bottom. Leave the sawdust in the box as it is still working to absorb moisture and odor. When the box is about 90% sawdust it is time to dispose of and start the 1" process all over again. We'd like to make this right if we can. Our team is available to help by phone/text message at 800-833-9532, Monday - Friday, from 9 - 5 Eastern. Please reach out to us directly and we'll be glad to help! Please mention your reference number: 007549723A, when contacting us.

  • A: I have my litter in a shifting box and give it a little shake every day when I clean it out, the urine soaked flakes fall into the second level and don’t get stirred up.

Q: How would you compare this to Breeze litter pellets

submitted by Linda - 3 years ago
  • A: Hi Linda, Feline Pine™ Litter is made of 100% All-Natural Pine for the best natural odor control without added fragrance. It is 100% chemical free and sustainably sourced without cutting down new trees. Feline Pine™ Litter fully absorbs urine, with no dust and no tracking. Breeze litter pellets are made from Mordenite Zeolite, according to their product page. Thank you.

  • A: I've been using this litter for many years and it's great! When I bought a Breeze litter box, it came with a sample of their litter but it does absorb urine like Feline Pine and causes a urine smell.

Q: is this the kind of litter that works with a sifting litter box? or can i just use a reg litter box? :3

submitted by Marcel - 4 years ago
  • A: I use the sifting box and love it, no tracking, litter last longer because I shake the wet under the first layer every day when I remove poo.

submitted byNice Rug - 3 months ago
  • A: Hi Marcel, a standard litter box works well with Feline Pine Natural Pine Non-Clumping Cat Litter. You do not need to use a sifting litter box system. Thanks.

Q: How do you get the urine out? Scoop it?

Q: Can this litter be flushed in the toilet?

submitted by Amanda - 2 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your question, Amanda. We do not recommend flushing the litter waste or putting it into drains due to the danger of cat feces entering the sewer system. Dangerous bacteria can be found in cat feces which could eventually make its way into ocean waters and threaten marine life, or in the case of local waterways which could impact drinking water, irrigating crops, etc. We recommend only disposing of used litter in the garbage. Additionally, the product should not be flushed or put in drains. Our team is available to help via phone call/text at 800-833-9532 Monday - Friday, from 9 - 5 Eastern. Please reach out to us directly and we'll be glad to help with any additional questions, comments, or concerns. Please mention your reference number: 007719545A, when contacting us.
