Feta Cheese Chunk - 8oz - Good & Gather™

I was so excited to see that Target offers feta in its block form. This product has easily become a staple in my home! It is also cost efficient compared to other brands of block feta.

This tastes fresh, tangy and mild like the feta you get at an actual Greek restaurant, not weird and stinky like a lot of cheap store bought feta. Really surprising quality for the price.

Don't waste your money. This just tastes like salt and lacks any feta flavor so it was pointless putting it into my Greek salad. Also, high quality feta can generally maintain its shape when sliced but this crumbled easily.

I made a target account solely to talk about how terrible this is. This tastes like a big wet eraser. Once you've had good feta, this is an abomination in comparison.

Seriously disgusting. Dry and not a nice flavore. Stick to dry goods from G&G. Love to spend $5 to throw it out.

I love feta cheese but this brand is horrible. It’s too hard & EXTREMELY SALTIER than any brand I’ve had. Does not have the flavor I’m use to with feta.

It was easy to cut and the cheese crumbled anyway when I cut into the block. It was good and tasty and I enjoyed it on top of noodles and I still have more than half a block left to use on salads. It was very flavorful and reasonably priced. I chopped up some to use on top of a Greek pasta salad and plan to use the rest on a watermelon cucumber salad. I definitely recommend! I think people need to realize there's different types of feta. Goat based, cow based, French, Greek, in brine, without brine, soft, hard, etc. This is really good grocery store feta. It's salty and made with pasteurized milk. Both change the flavor. It is still great feta. It's not comparable to a local Greek or Arabic market, but it is delicious.

Um. Ok. So, I love Target owned-brand items, and despite the two negative reviews (both without commentary, so who knows) on here at the time, I went ahead with my purchase. I am still obsessed with the feta pasta bake that was plastered all over the internet a couple years back, and had a hankering. This was the only feta that Target had available, and I’ve used their brand of feta before, so figured the negative reviews were maybe in regards to getting an expired product or something. So I check the exp date on this and it was fine, but when I opened the package, it didn’t smell like feta. Not bad, just not like feta. But figured, maybe it was just me…so, I made the pasta bake. Before serving it, I tried it, and while it didn’t taste “bad”, it didn’t taste like feta. I can’t explain it any other way. It melted well and was creamy, but thank goodness I had some leftover name-brand feta crumbles in the fridge to add into the pasta dish to help out the flavor and save the dish. Honestly, I’m not sure I’ll ever buy this brand again, despite good experiences in the past, because I won’t be able to trust that it’ll taste right. Which is a bummer.
