About the Book
"My intention in these pages is to tell you what I believe worked to get me moving and to encourage you to think about yourself for a few minutes. This book is not about making money or managing the funds you have in the bank, although I'll touch on the topic of finances. There are plenty of resources out there written by experts in the fields of personal finance, career change, and retirement planning for you to consult if you wish. I'm also not suggesting that you must drop everything and hire a career coach. Not everyone needs the same kick in the rear to advance them toward their goals"--Book Synopsis

About the Author
Kevin McGoff is an author, travel writer, speaker, and lawyer.
During his career Kevin worked for a state agency, ran a solo practice, and started a law firm. Later he served as General Counsel to a large midwest firm. As he looked to other horizons Kevin crafted a plan with his law firm's management allowing him to wind down his career while developing new skills. He retired from the practice of law in 2021.
Kevin is an award-winning travel writer, avid cyclist, and inveterate traveler. He developed a successful program to complement his book, Find Your Landing Zone: Life Beyond The Bar, which will be published by the ABA in August, 2023. The seminar is designed to motivate lawyers and other professionals to progress from thinking about what's next in life to creating a personal plan to make it happen.
During most of his over forty years of practice Kevin represented lawyers and judges in professional licensure matters, assisted lawyers and law firms on issues pertaining to firm management, law firm dissolution and organization, malpractice, legal ethics, and related litigation. In the early days of his career Kevin practiced in the fields of criminal defense and family law.
A frequent speaker about legal ethics for over 25 years, Kevin, and Deputy Executive Secretary of the Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission Chuck Kidd collaborated with the Indiana Continuing Legal Education Forum to develop the seminar "Vignettes of Legal Ethics". The program instantly resonated to attorney audiences and became one of the most popular and sought-after CLE seminars. Their efforts were seen by an estimated 10,000 Indiana attorneys. Kevin has presented on the topic of legal ethics at programs in other jurisdictions and to international attorney audiences with the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers.
