The First Alert Battery Operated Smoke Alarm features 2 alarms and provides the ideal defense for detecting fast flaming fires. Natural additions in the home or place of business, these smoke alarms utilize ionization technology that recognize and detect smoke as soon as it enters each unit's chamber. Ionization smoke detectors come equipped with a single test button that allow you to check the functionality of your alarm. A: According to the NFPA, batteries should be changed every 6 months but usually last longer. The unit will chirp to alert you when the battery is low.

Battery hard to install.

The battery was hard to install and doesn't fit well at all. I couldn't get the mount to stay on the ceiling. Have to go out and buy something else instead.

Brand new and beeped constantly- both alarms in pack same issue

I got this two pack and installed the bases and then followed the instructions to insert the batteries (that were included) and both alarms went off for minutes as if there was smoke (there wasn’t).Tried putting batteries back in outside and in different rooms and it continued to happen. Had purchased only a week prior. Called first alert and they said to return to target. So disappointed in these

I bought 3 packs (6 in totally) a few weeks ago. I installed them in 2 floors. Last night, my home had full of smoke due to an incident of overtoasting bread. Non of these alarms went off. I cannot trust these any more. I am looking to buy another brand to replace all of these ASAP.

For the price they are great. But, the included batteries are a serious let down. They are heavy duty not alkaline. This means they use a different chemical electrolyte. Some alkalines get 10 yrs. Most heavy duty max out at 3. So expect these to do the dreaded nighttime chirp pretty soon. I think I'll opt for my own batteries next time, or buy more expensive ones that have better batteries.

I ordered 2 of these (2 smoke detectors in each pack). My son was putting them up for me toiday and only 1 of the 4 would work. Bought new batteries and they still wouldn't work. won't buy this brand again.

Installing these was easy and the directions was very clear. It is not bulky looking and blends very well with the wall. It does not make any noise. Removing it to replace batteries is also very easy - not that I need to do it right away, but bc I am a woman, I need to learn this at the beginning so I know when the time comes. I need to be independent in case my husband cannot do it. Great products!

I want it protected with the best and I feel like it is with these alarms. My husband said they were super easy to install. And we chose the battery operated ones so we change the batteries as the time changes. So just twice a year to be sure we are fully protected! I fully recommend First Alert. I have never been disappointed yet with the quality and durability of any of their products!

I did a small smoke test just to see if they worked and they definitely did. Worked with minimal smoke and was very loud. There's no way you wouldn't be able to hear them if you were in a bedroom with the door closed. Was easy to install on the wall, took only a minute for each one. Good quality smoke alarms. May purchase more to place at the end of the hallway and restroom. Don't necessarily need that many but as a precaution.

It may save your life some day. I have one in my kitchen, laundry room, over every bedroom door and in hallways. They are very loud so to get your attention just in case you are sleeping. I know that the fire department would appreciate if you have one and it might not only save your home but also your life. They are small and not very noticeable. I recommend that you change the batteries every time the time changes.

We had been worried about a fire starting in that area. These are smoke alarms are easy to install and give us peace of mind knowing that should anything happen in this part of the house, we will be alerted right away. The battery operated piece of the puzzle makes installation a snap and is also great as we tend to lose power in our neighborhood during bad weather. We will probably get a few more for the garage and the basement.
