Q&A(14)

Q: how long will hold a charge?

submitted by jack s - 8 years ago
  • A: The description says "...backed by 10-year limited warranty"

submitted byPenguins - 6 years ago
  • A: Thank you for reaching out. The charge would be determined by how often the device is used. When it is time to recharge your device, hire a trained professional to make sure your extinguisher is safe and gets recharged with the correct chemical extinguishing agent.

  • A: The description says, "... rechargeable by certified professionals after use." Which means if used, take it to your local fire/ safety store for recharging. The indicator dial should be checked periodically (monthly or at least quarterly) and the unit should be turned upside down so the powder doesn't compact as it settles, rendering it useless.

Q: Do you have to cut the white plastic safety ring or does it come off when you pull the pin?

submitted by J C - 6 years ago
  • A: None of the photos on this model show a plastic ring, but it should work after pulling the pin and squeezing the trigger. Anything else that may be in the way of using it should break off easily. A visual inspection can be done at the store or soon after purchase, to check for obvious defects.

  • A: Thank you for reaching out. When operating a fire extinguisher, remember the word PASS: Pull the pin. Hold the extinguisher with the nozzle pointing away from you and release the locking mechanism. Aim low. Point the extinguisher at the base of the fire. Squeeze the lever slowly and evenly. Sweep the nozzle from side-to-side.

submitted by jan1ce - 4 years ago
  • A: Thank you for your question. It is very important to remove the powder from electrical equipment after a fire. If the powder gets wet, it can conduct electricity.
