I love that it comes with CO built in because its a pain in some rooms having the extra detector taking up space. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently installed the First Alert fire alarm in my home, and after testing it out for a while, I feel confident in sharing my thoughts on it. First off, the setup process was relatively easy. The instructions were clear, and the included hardware made installation straightforward. I was able to mount it on the ceiling in just a few minutes with minimal effort. The unit itself feels sturdy and well-built, which is reassuring when it comes to something as important as fire safety. In terms of performance, the First Alert fire alarm has been very reliable. It has a loud, attention-grabbing siren that activates quickly whenever it detects smoke or heat. Thankfully, I haven’t had any actual emergencies yet, but I’ve tested it by holding it near smoke and it promptly went off, which is exactly what I expect. The alarm itself is loud enough to be heard throughout my entire house, even in the basement. One of the features I appreciate the most is the battery life. This model uses a long-lasting battery that is supposed to last up to 10 years, which is fantastic. The idea of not having to worry about changing the batteries every six months is a huge convenience. The alarm also has a battery backup, so it will continue to work even during a power outage, which is essential for peace of mind. The test button is easy to reach, and it provides a simple way to ensure that the alarm is functioning properly without having to rely on actual smoke. Another small but useful feature is the indicator light, which tells you whether the alarm is working properly or if there’s a problem like a low battery or a malfunction. What I found particularly impressive was the sensitivity of the alarm. It isn’t so sensitive that it goes off every time I burn toast, but it certainly picks up when there’s actual smoke in the air. Some fire alarms tend to be overly sensitive or, on the flip side, not sensitive enough, but this one strikes the right balance. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do—keep my home safe in case of fire—and it’s built to last. I feel more secure knowing I have this alarm installed, and the peace of mind it provides is priceless.

I installed the detector right into the old mounting rings that I had existing from my previous detector. It’s great that It is hardwired with a battery backup. The lights on the detector are nice and bright letting me know it’s working properly. The alarm sound is very loud and will definitely alert us.

This smoke detector is really valuable because it also alerts you to carbon monoxide in the home as well. It comes with a fist cover which is superior to normal smoke detectors. It has a battery back up also. I change my smoke detector batteries when I change the air filters in my home. It’s easily installed as well.

Because one day I baked food and there was smoke coming out and oh yeah, the alarm went off and trust me the sound is loud! What is really great about it is that it's interconnect hardwire with backup battery!
