Read the entire label including fine print, they've gone back to using lead as their main source of "steel" in these pruners which is ridiculous considering the toxicity of lead.

The orange clasp closer thing is clunky to use and doesn’t hold the blades closed unless you have the orange thing exactly in position in the notch. This is challenging barehanded because it’s stiff and plastic and it feels like it’s going to break off and it’s dang impossible with garden gloves on. Got this on sale for $9 which is ok but definitely not worth it at $13 full price.

These were very dull for pruning potted flowers. Adjusted position of stem on blade several times and still a labored process.

I got this to help me cut small wooden sticks for my hobby. I just got it today and I tested some popsicle sticks at different angles. The cuts were pretty clean with no splintering. I have arthritis and I was able to use it fairly easily. I plan to wrap the handles with something to cushion the hard handles.

I bought this after debating between this model or the more expensive trimmers and I made a mistake. They're not super sharp so even trimming the stems of flowers is difficult, wish I just bought the more expensive heavy duty ones!

I've had these for about 9 months now and use probably 5 times a week to prune by plants. They worked well at first but now they need to be sharpened

Some of the time these pruners will cut stems nice and clean, but most of them time they tear or bend stems.
Rendered Useless

Greg G - 4 years ago, Verified purchaser
As another reviewer pointed out, the blades are not snug enough or sharp enough, rendering them useless. Bought this to trim flower stems but I feel like I am just hurting them—the stem just gets smashed and torn.
Not good

Sarah - 4 years ago, Verified purchaser
The top blade is not snug against the bottom, so it doesn't make a clean cut, and it won't cut through thin stems/leaves at all, just bends them downward. I tried tightening the hardware but no luck. Really disappointed.

I used this once and already they are dull. I don't know if they can be sharpened but I don't these are worth the money. I only used these to cut back some plants and a few mini branches off a rose bush.
