Q: These have an awful metallic aftertaste that doesn't go away for hours. Can I crush them up and eat them with something else rather than chew them?

submitted by Bee D - 19 days ago
  • A: Flintstones Chewables may be crushed or cut in half before chewing. However, we would recommend discontinuing use since the metallic taste you experienced does not meet our Quality standards. Please contacted us between 8 AM - 8 PM EST at 1-800-800-4793 so that we may learn more. Reference file number 5763469.

Q: Is the iron ferrous fumarate or ferrous sulfate? I believe you removed the type of iron due to switching to the inferior ferrous sulfate which is more difficult for the body to absorb.

submitted by Julie - 28 days ago
  • A: We are constantly reviewing our products and formulations to meet the needs of our consumers. Our Flintstones +Iron Chewable Multivitamin was reformulated in 2019 to accommodate a variety of changes, one of which was the ferrous fumarate. There is no meaningful difference in the intestinal absorption between ferrous fumarate and ferrous sulfate.

Q: Why on EARTH did they change the formula? They taste like cardboard garbage now.

submitted by Dosmit Raeh - 4 years ago
  • A: We listened to our consumers and we heard loud and clear they wanted a formula free of the things that you don’t want your kids to consume. So, our new chewable formulas are free of the artificial flavors, synthetic colors, and high fructose corn syrup. We know the flavor may have changed a bit from what you are used to, but in taste testing it received high scores, and some consumers even like it better. We care about all our Flintstones Vitamins fans and those like you with passion for the originals. We are taking a closer look at what we can do so please stay tuned. We are interested in hearing more from you, please call us at 1-800-331-4536 Monday through Friday, 8am -9pm EST.
