A: Thanks for your question, Sharon. We use ethyl acetate direct process. In the ethyl acetate process, we begin by steaming the beans, which draws the caffeine to the surface; ethyl acetate is then added to the beans to extract the caffeine. After the caffeine is removed, we steam the beans again, and then we’re ready for roasting.

I love Black Silk coffee but now I am a bit confused by the taste difference in the beans are they the same? The past couple of months I (we) have noticed that something is off there is a bitter taste difference to the coffee and Black Silk definitely doesn’t have that. It also seems other notes are off ~ are you changing the something?

What has happened to Folgers Columbian. It's not !00% Columbian any longer and husband refuses to drink it, and I just bought 2 huge tubs that will be wasted. Sorry Folgers we have to change brands. It's weak and bitter.

We've been drinking Folgers for 44 years. The last year every can we've bought has a horrible smell and taste. You keep saying you haven't changed anything, but something has changed. I just threw out the last container that we purchased and it will be the last.

Folgers has had a reputation for high quality coffee so when my other coffee brand worked in my drip-maker but clogged in my pour-over, I searched for a pour-over/French Press option. Not easy to find in a grocery store but Folgers has it, I can use it in both my coffee makers and I am delighted to have such a delicious fresh coffee now my fave.

I’ve always liked a good strong coffee in the morning, but could never find one that had great taste,& strong. Then I found your “black silk”, the first sip I had,I said “oh my God!,that’s so good! And from then on, “black silk” is all I will buy! I have even gone to two stores,to buy it cus the first one didn’t have it! You guys nailed it with the flavor,& how smooth it is. It’s not bitter,and it’s got that nice “kick in the butt”,that gets me going in the morning! But it’s also nice to relax with in the evening too! Don’t change a thing Folgers,cus I really love this coffee! It is absolutely perfect! And I wouldn’t know what to do with myself,if I couldn’t have my “black silk” in the morning! Seriously!☹️🥺

I loved drinking that 1st and 2nd,3rd cup half the day. Why has the coffee gotten bitter? I don't buy classic roast, has a really odd taste. Drinking a cup this am and taste is bitter and not wanting anymore.

I ordered 3 cans of coffee. This review is about the delivery process. Target uses FedEx and again the FedEx truck driver drove over my lawn leaving 1 hour of damage for me to fix. I called FedEx to complaine, they send me to Global ARC who inturn sent me to Target.com for the complaint. After 20 minutes on the phone the target.com customer service rep was sending me off to some other complaint department. Not worth my time to shop Target.com as long as they keep using FedEx for deliveries.

After 16 months travelling, this is the first time I enjoy my home brew. This Folger black silk coffee is dark roasted, has bold and strong coffee without bitter or burnt note at all. Whenever I went to coffee place, I always ask whether the coffee taste sour or not as I HATE the sour one.

I grew up in a “Folgers Only” household and can spot the distinctive aroma anywhere. One of my absolute favorite smells (other than waking up to a fresh pot brewing lol) is when you first open a can of Folgers and smell the aroma of fresh grounds. It ranks up right there with fresh cut grass and a freshly bathed, newborn baby!! Unfortunately, over the past year or so the quality has seriously diminished. The aroma coming from the coffee pot while brewing is almost negligible and the grounds in a just opened canister smell identical to the old ones at the bottom of the old canister. I’m not sure if the company has resorted the cheaper quality ingredients or if quality control is just really lacking. Either way, it’s just not the Folgers I grew up on. The fact that Folgers insists on raising prices every few months makes me wonder what exactly I’m being charged extra for. It seems at this point, they’re getting all the “extra” and before long, I’ll be able to get a better cup of coffee at the corner gas station.

I did not buy it at first because all decaf coffee has a orange rim or orange container. It tastes pretty good but I wont buy it again because the orange rim makes me think its decaff and what coffee without caffeine?
