Q: Is this machine loud

submitted by Sandie - 16 days ago
  • A: Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, the FoodSaver Premier vacuum sealer, which includes Dry, Moist, and Marinate modes, is generally considered loud during operation. To mitigate the noise, some users suggest placing the sealer on a folded tea towel to absorb vibrations and reduce sound transmission. We hope this helps. If you require our assistance, please contact us using our official Foodsaver Contact Us form so we can help you further. We’re available Mon.-Fri. 9 am – 8 pm Eastern Time. Thank you! Q: are the bag resistant to heat ??

submitted by p - 1 year ago
  • A: Hello, Thanks for reaching out to us. We will be more than happy to answer your question! The FoodSaver bags and rolls are simmer-safe for sous vide cooking. Simmering is a food preparation technique in which foods are cooked in hot liquids kept just below the boiling point of water (which is 100 °C or 212 °F). Our bags and rolls can also be put in the microwave. You can heat cooked foods, such as leftovers, in a FoodSaver® bag. The bags should never be used to cook raw foods. When microwaving, cut open a corner of the bag before putting it in the microwave so steam can escape. Avoid microwaving foods containing a lot of oil, as oil will get hot very quickly and could cause the sides of the bag to stick together. We hope this information proves helpful, and if you have any more questions, do not hesitate to contact us directly via our official FoodSaver "Contact Us" website or through LiveChat. We’re available Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Eastern Time. Thank you! FoodSaver Consumer Care

Q: Can it be used to seal liquid foods, as in; soups and sauces?

submitted by Smiley - 3 years ago
  • A: Hello, thank you for reaching out to us at FoodSaver® . We will be more than happy to answer your question! You can't vacuum seal a soup while it's still a liquid. The way you get around all this is to freeze the soup first and then vacuum seal it. Put the soup or stew in a container and put it in the freezer .Once that soup is frozen, take it out of the freezer and move it into a vacuum seal bag. With a solid substance, you'll be able to tightly vacuum seal that soup without flooding your drip tray. It's the easiest way to save tasty stew for a rainy day or even some fresh veggies you've diced. Hope this information helps. Should you have any inquiries or further questions, please let us know by sending an email through our FoodSaver® website or you may call us at our toll-free number 1-877-777-8042. For your convenience, we are available from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday - Friday, EST
