This premium instant camera lets you capture photos in their true, analog format. Six awe-inspiring Color Effect settings let you fuel your creative freedom (they’re all powered by color-changing LEDs located inside the camera). Plus, one normal setting lets you keep things ‘real’.
Next, it’s all about the Shooting Modes. From Bulb to Indoor, Double Exposure to Sports, there’s five to choose from and they’re easy to switch between.
It’s also worth noting that the INSTAX MINI 99 instant camera offers five levels of brightness: “L+” for the brightest exposure, “D-“ for the darkest. In between you’ll find “L”, “D”, and “N” if you’re looking for standard brightness levels.
When it comes to powering up, simply turn the Lens dial. Stop at ‘3.0m to ∞’ (Landscape) for distances, ‘0.3m to 0.6m’ (Macro) for close ups and selfies, or ‘0.6m to 3.0m’ (Standard) for everything in between. Want to deepen the look? Use the Manual Vignette switch to narrow the lens aperture for a powerful artistic look. Want to alter the tone? Take control of the flash function to match the look you envision.

The two identical Shutter buttons help you switch from Portrait to Landscape orientation for those must-have shots. And along with a handy tripod mount (tripod sold separately), this instant camera comes with a precision-milled Base Grip with Tripod Mount that also acts as a grip when attached to the camera.

I have experience with both film and digital photography, and this camera is very easy to use, produces good quality photos, and has lots of fun options! It has zoom, color, and brightness setting which help with taking photos at different distances and in different lighting situations. I think it’s a reasonably priced product, but the real expense is the film packs. The film packs will add up over time and surpass the value of the camera, so be aware of that.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a collector of many instax cameras for over 10 years and so I am very thrilled to have received this one! I immediately jumped to use the colour effects on my photos since its a new feature in the instax lineup and one I have found myself enjoying just too much. The LCD display shows various modes and is similar to another camera I own and adore, the mini 90! In fact as I look at more of its features, the mini 99 shares a lot of similarities to the mini 90 and is just as lightweight with or without the included strap. The key differences I would say are the dial giving quick access to different exposures (the mini 90 has a button just under its LCD display but no dial), better control in different exposures compared to previous cameras, longer battery life, and as mentioned before the impressive colour effects. I’ll admit every other photo I’ve shot has included the light leak effect so I appreciate film being included with this camera as I can snap a bunch, and I will let up no time soon, I love it! This is my new favorite toy! 📷

When first receiving, I noticed this camera is slim, sheek and very much an upgrade from the popular model! It came with a camera strap and definitely has a vintage feel to it when holding it or looking at the lense! The different print features are so unique. It’s like taking a Live Photo with a filter but on a classic method of a camera! I will be taking this every where I go now!
