The 'L' are meant to be screwed into the 'J' pieces of the frame; the 'J' peices have no holes or indents what so ever so I had to drill my own holes, risking splitting the wood as well as there was no way to complain about this item without returning it for a refund. After going through the trouble of building the whole thing and needing to do a massive extra step not stated in the directions at all I was not going to take it all apart, attempt to load it in an uber and pay for the ride to the store
