As much as I LOVE the scent of their Straight Hair shampoo, I did find my hair felt heavy. It didn't feel oily for at least 6-8 hours, but my hair felt weighted. I rarely use conditioner, and the two times I used their Straight Hair conditioner my hair became oily within 4-6 hours. This is without their booster packs added in. I really hope Function of Beauty reformulates for oily scalps. This formula is better suited for normal hair in my opinion. If it didn't weigh my hair down or leave my hair feeling oily after 8 hours I'd be all in. Hope this helped. <3

A: Hi Rachel, our Straight shampoo and conditioner contain a silicone called Propoxytetramethyl piperidinyl dimethicone (we know, it's a mouthful!) - we use it because it's an excellent conditioning and protecting agent that protects hair from thermal damage, adds shine, and helps give a soft, silky texture. This brand has an effective ingredient that causes your hair to fall out! Everything from this brand , leave in conditioner, volume spray , shampoo and conditioner. The smell is amazing but it is so unfortunate do not recommend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very drying and stripping and caused a bad scalp reaction with itching burning for days. Smells so good and the smell lasts but im having to heal from what it did to my scalp

I have fine hair and my scalp is very oily. I've been on the look out for an affordable, cruelty-free shampoo and I think this is the one for me. I used to use the Verb Ghost shampoo for the longest time, but my hair was always flat and still get easily greasy. I've been using this shampoo for a week now and I love it! It definitely gives my hair some shine without additional products, and my hair doesn't get greasy as fast!! I love it. The only thing is, this shampoo is HEAVILY frangranced, so if you have a sensitive scalp, it might be irritating. It also suds up a lot and easily dispersed into my hair, which I appreciate.

BEWARE! Literally made my hair brittle and start breaking off and falling out!! I loved the scent but when I noticed in two weeks enough hair was out of my head to clog my drain (i have a choppy layered above the shoulders haircut), I knew there was a problem. Bought my fiancée the wavy hair one and he was also loosing hair and the formula made him break out across his forehead and the back of his body. Not worth risking your hair over!!

At first, when I saw this product, I was so happy to find that they were so specific on hair types! When I tried it out, I loved that it was blue, and it smelled very clean and refreshing. I started with a quarter-sized amount, but then slowly had to go back and add more. I was sad that it didn't lather as much as I wanted only because I felt like I would run out soon based on the amount I was forced to use every wash. But despite this, I have to say it did make my hair soft, healthy, and smell great. Even though there were many good things about it, I would probably change shampoos only because for the price it was at for how much it didn't lather didn't add up to me. :/

The reason your shampoo isn’t lathering as much as a conventional shampoo is because we don’t include any sulfates in our formula, which is what causes the lathering and foaming effect in most generic shampoos. If this continues to bother you, we suggest pre-lathering your shampoo by wetting your hands well before dispensing the shampoo and rubbing your hands together. We hope this helps!

This shampoo was gifted by functionofbeauty and the product alone left my hair feeling so clean, soft, silky, and hydrated. Once I put the add ins into the shampoo I could almost immediately feel a difference in my hair. As someone who has very oily hair this did a great job at giving my hair hydration without leaving my scalp oily. It left my straight hair looking shiny, smooth, healthy, and overall improved the look of my hair in general.

This shampoo smells so good! It smells nice and fruity. I added two of the hair goal boosters to this and have been so happy with the results. My hair isn't greasy after washing and the shampoo has a really good lather. I did receive this in complimentary from fuctionofbeauty but these are my honest opinions.

I have thin, straight hair so I chose to add the volume booster to my shampoo and really noticed a difference in the volume of my hair. I think the booster shots are an awesome way to easily customize the product to what you desire in a shampoo. I would definitely recommend this shampoo to all of my straight haired friends!

I've probably 10 different oils, conditioners and shampoos. This bundle ACTUALLY made a difference. My hair lies without frizz and truely feels moisturized. I wish they were sold separately. Just used my straight shampoo for the first time! And it was nice. It smells so good like clean fresh light coconut scent. I added two booster pods of strengthening and volumizing. I really liked the customizable factor and how easy it was to add the pods. My hair feels very clean and smells amazing!!!! Slight volume I would say, hard to tell.
