Beautiful sundress - 16 days ago
I had to measure my waistline before using this. I also had to make it tight enough to fit around. Even though it's a bit loud with the weighted ball this fitness hoop is something I could workout with when I can't get to the gym or go for a walk on some days. Happy to have something like this.

There isnt a way to secure the casters inside the hoop, so care needs to be taken when picking up the hoop if its not connected all the way around. I started using the hoop 6 days ago. It came partially connected, and with extra links., and the weighted ball connected to the casters by a length of string (for lack of a better description.) Others have said the length is not adjustable, but it is. The longer the length, the easier to maneuver. The links don't come off easily, which I find to be a good thing. It means they are secure. The casters for the weighted ball insert easily. And the movement around the belt seems pretty smooth. There is noise, but it doesn't seem as loud as others complained about. I'm able to watch tv, or if I'm outside, listen to an audiobook while I use it. The point where the belt connects around the waist clips together easily, and also unclips easily. Over all I'd say it works as expected, and was worth the money.

I had to watch a few YouTube videos to get some tips on how to keep this going. But over all I like it. It’s pretty loud but easy to use while watching TV.

I really wanted to love this because the concept seems so easy. Just like when we were active and would hula hoop as kids. Who am I? I am no longer a kid and my back has proven that. Ouch! I do not recommend this for anyone who may have even the slightest of back issues.

It's difficult to remove the links. When exercising it is extremely loud and does not swing smoothly. There's a definite learning curve. For the price it's not bad, but definitely really loud and clunky.

Gaiam Weighted Fitness Hoop

Valerie - 4 months ago, Verified purchaser
I’ve never had a weighted fitness hoop before so I do not have anything else to compare this to but I do enjoy this weighted hoop. I’m 5’6” and 135lbs, and after removing a notch this hoop rests on my hips comfortably without squeezing. The ball weight moves around the hoop track easily if you give it the first throw around and start working your hips in a circular motion. I also have found that if I evenly and firmly stand on both feet while squatting a bit and get some of the motion work on my thighs that I can get a little thigh work out as well. The string the ball weight hangs from can be adjusted to have the ball weight hang shorter or longer to your preference (I made mine shorter). The hoop has some noise, but not offensively so. I expect I’ll have to be doing this for a little bit to feel some burn, but it’s something to help keep me moving more. Good price. I say go for it.

I actually think this is pretty nice. I did 1 hour today and my HR was at about 130 most of the time and I could do this while watching Gilmore Girls in my bedroom while my toddler napped. Tips: the tighter the better (within a reasonable level of comfort), and maybe wedge some socks in the front to keep the hoop as circular as possible. The more circular, the easier it is to get the weight to spin properly. Also, I wear a thick hoodie to assist with any discomfort from the plastic hoop on my skin. Okay, that’s all I got, but in general this thing is kinda fun.

I’ve used a weighted hula hoop for quite a while but thought this would be convenient to take along when I’m traveling. I couldn’t get it adjusted by myself and had difficulty taking it off. I could use it easily and the noise wasn’t an issue for me but even after 20 minutes of use I didn’t feel as if I’d exercised at all. It’s pretty ineffective and I’d need one of my grandchildren to help me.

It’s good in theory but this design is flawed. The rigid plastic is uncomfortable the weighted ball is difficult to move. Pulled back muscle trying to get it to spin around.

I read a bunch of reviews before I purchased this item… they have the name brand item selling for $80 but had a bunch of bad reviews so I decided to go with this one instead…. I’ve had it for two weeks now and I’ve had no problems with it! It is a little on the louder side but it’s not loud enough to wake my baby in the next room with a closed door. It takes up little to no space and there are so many different ways to exercise with it to get a full body work out! For the price difference from this one to the name brand one, I can deal with a little bit of noise!

It took a while for me to learn how to use it and I just started. I think it’s a fun way to get moving but it is very loud and I live in an apartment with other roommates who can definitely hear when I used this in my room. Well will see in a month if it works.

I don’t know if it even works. I couldn’t deal with the sound. It’s too loud and there’s no way to silence it. Otherwise I would keep it and keep trying it. It’s just too much of an annoyance.
