Q: Is Captain Titus on the standard 40mm base of a space marine? Can you swap out his shoulder or is he completely push fit as well?
submitted by DeathwatchRunner - 1 year ago
A: He does have a standard 40mm base. The shoulder pauldrons are seperate pieces, so snipping off the pegs on the shoulders is all that would be needed to use alternative shoulder pauldrons.
submitted byLegos - 5 months agoA: Kit is completely push fit but nothing some glue and a little green stuff can't fix.

Q: Is the Captain Titus model of primaris size?
submitted by Smoke - 6 months ago
A: Yes. He stands taller in a space marine blob because of tactical rock

As others said somebody stole the space marine and repackaged it very pathetic. good on target for replacing it and we’ll see if the replacement has the same issues.

I was excited to receive my board game, but the box was already opened upon arrival and the Titus figurine had been taken out. It's pretty pathetic that someone in a Target warehouse is scalping items from a board game.
Fantastic value for minis, but it's not a board game.

This is a fantastic value for getting the miniatures, and especially for getting Lt. Titus. As I’ve researched this and compared with other sets the minis alone are worth almost $100- so this is a great way to get into the Warhammer 40k mini collection hobby. I was pulled in from Space Marine 2, and I can’t wait to start painting these after building them (which is also very fun. You could say it’s Legos for adults.) So why 3 stars? Two reasons: 1) Target shipped me an open box copy. The seals both had been tampered on the box, and one of the brackets that hold some of the minis had been snapped in half. (They are connected as a pair, so taking the pair apart would be a start to building the minis). But since I bought a new copy, I’m surprised Target let that be sent out as a new item. 2) This is not a board game. It’s meant to be Warhammer 40k lite-diet-zero. It gives basic concepts of how a game would work (so basic that I don’t know how any of this translates to the real Tabletop game), has two training missions and two normal missions for two-player play, and the included rule book has some of the best artwork I’ve ever seen. Sadly, the two main missions suffer from unclear instructions, and a lack of play testing. Playing with the recommended setup means the player playing as Titus will get crushed very quickly. So unfortunately the “board game” part of this requires a lot of house rules to make it playable, let alone fun. In short, this is a great deal for the minis, not for the “board game”. Also, Target may ship you an open box copy.

If you want a really nice mini, a bunch if models, and a fun game to play with friends, pick this up. It's worth it even if your interest in Warhammer is passing.

Would've definitely been 5 stars but I was assembling the last termagant and realized I he was missing an arm (luckily not the arm holing his gun) I'd rather not try to take all the models apart and attempt to return it over the one arm so I'll either 3D print one or make one out of green stuff and make it work. Otherwise is a great buy

The box came with everything advertised. Great way to see some really basic aspects of the table top game. Only thing to be aware of is it does not come with any paint or brushes, so if you do not already have some you will need to.

Over $100 of miniatures plus a hard game mat / game board that GW would sell for $40 if they sold it independantly. This box is a great deal for someone building Space Marines and Tyranids. If they are just testing the waters, this is a great intro to the hobby, with clear instructions to assemble the models, a simple game with multiple scenarios, and lots of lovely pictures and introduction to the 40K universe. If you are experienced, the game can still be something fun to throw down with a friend who's never played, give them an intro to miniatures, etc. Only issue is that the rules are spread around several pages, and it can be hard to remember them "all at once" so I made a summary myself I use, so I don't have to page around. Can't see any way to lose with this!

Amazing value about 100$ worth on minis and is only 40 still, though has the mere basics for a nids or space marines army it is still great value for what you get. Side note only got it for the minis to use in my armies for 40k this board game version is just a very scaled down version of 10th and at that point just get the combat patrol version still amazing product
Pretty Good Value for 40k players

You get roughly $90 worth of miniatures in this box. Two squads of gaunts, some rippers, and a great looking unique marine that doubles as a Lieutenant that will stand out on the table for any Marine player. Perhaps best of all for the Lt, the pauldrons can be switched to match your chapter with only a pair of clippers. A solid pickup if you run Marines or ‘Nids.
Not really a board game, more of a barebones 40k starter set

I'm guessing most people who buy this game really just care about the models, and that's probably the only reason to buy this product. The models are decent; you get a single very fancy space marine who you could run as a character in a 40k army and then a bunch of basic tyrannid troops. $40 for this amount of plastic feels worth it, but just barely. But if you're expecting an actual board game like Labyrinth of the Necrons or Rise of the Orks, you'll probably be disappointed. The "game" that's included here is just a really scaled down version of 10th edition 40k. Really this product only exists to get you to buy more expensive GW starter sets like Leviathan.

Picked this up for the miniatures. I built all of the tyranids first. Then when I started on the Space Marine I found that one part was broken preventing pieces snapping together and he is missing his left pauldron. Glue can fix one of those, but not able to fix a missing piece. Not sure that I can return it.

What I liked was the ease of assembly and the way rules are explained. Didn’t like was the way all the miniatures are rattling around in the box

If you're a Warhammer 40,000 fan, the value here is great, and the game is simple and fun. If you're new to Warhammer 40,000, the models are easy to assemble and quick to get to the table with or without painting these very detailed miniatures. Gameplay is fun, and the rules are easy to learn. 5 stars all thw way around.
