Description

This composter has lasted several years and works well for seniors. It has also confounded the local bear visits as they can't seem to be able to get it open. That can be a problem and it is easy to crack the plastic lids if not careful as it is hard to open-great to prevent predators but hard for seniors to open. Would suggest that the plastic for air holes are not completely open as I live in the high desert and have to mask many of the holes as the bin dries out too quickly.

I found it easy to assemble, but the doors wouldn't open without a hammer. I called Gardeners supply & they recommended vasoline, so I slathered the door with it & that did work until winter. The door freezes shut! I placed this near the back door, hoping to use it in winter when it's too snowy or icy to walk down to the compost bin. But the frozen door does not help. Someone needs to redesign these doors. There are many complaints about them.

Works great but I do wonder how do people move partially composted material over to the finish bin without bringing fresh material with it. Only way I can see is to dump it all out on a tarp and sort it? I could do that every few weeks or so but if anyone has other suggestions I would love to hear.

I use four compost bins and this one is by far my favorite. It was a breeze to assemble, when another one took me hours and a second pair of hands. It spins easily while another one I use is too heavy when full and hard to spin. The smaller compartments mean they fill up faster and compost faster because I'm not constantly adding to it. It's sturdy and has held up perfectly for two years now. When I decide I need another composter for kitchen scraps, I'll definitely buy another one of these.

The start and finish impressions are hard to see in shade. I did a lot of research before purchasing and this item seemed to be the best design and quality available for the price.

The composter was easy to set up and get working. Comes with some easy instructions for how to get started composting. This is my first composter abs I like that it has 2 sides to work with and it tumbles easily.

My old composter broke down on one side, and I bought this to replace it. I'm very glad I did. It was becoming more difficult to turn the barrel composter that I had due to how heavy it would get when full. These side-by-side twin barrels are easy to rotate, simple to load, and I love the ability to have two different "ages" for my compost. I'm looking forward to using this for years!.

As others have mentioned, this product is not animal-proof. We purchased this six months ago, and in the recent Spring thaw, it has been eaten alive by critters, rendering it not usable. Gardeners has unfortunately been unwilling to reimburse or replace the item, so I had to throw it out. I will be seeking a composter elsewhere, from a company that upholds their warranty claims.

We're so sorry that animals chewed through your composter! You are correct that is not animal proof, unfortunately. Almost no composters are. When filling your composter, only add vegetable scraps and yard waste. Adding meat or dairy products to your compost will attract rodents (as well as dogs and cats).
Looks sturdy, but unsure if tubing is stainless steel or not

This looks to be well-designed and made. Jury is still out on longevity, because the tubing looks to be low-carbon steel but not stainless steel. So I am unsure how long the stand will last. If it's stainless, it should be in for a good long run in our garden. I will post follow up once I know for sure.

Sturdy, spins well. Easy to assemble. Good for a household with two people. We have another larger compost bin as well so with the three compartments, it's perfect as one can always be "working" while we fill another. Would definitely recommend.

The set up was super easy and its important to put it where you want it, of course, before starting to fill it. Super easy to use, love the sliding labeled doors. Love spinging it, which I do regularly when I walk by. Purchased with the enzyme started and cori blocks - you are set to go. My compost is looking really good one week out!
If I needed more compost I would buy a second one!

I used to turn my compost heap every few days, now I just spin the drums, so easy! Two large drums lets you always have compost, one finishing, the other just starting. Perfect, simple, easy process.

This tumbler was super easy to assemble. I had it out together in under 30mins. So far I'm working to fill the first side and I roll it every day to give it a good mix. I've had a few challenges: 1. When you first start adding compost the opening is the heaviest part so it rolls so the opening is facing the ground. It made it tricky to add stuff for the first few days. Now that it's got a good amount of food in there I can use that weight to keep the opening face up. 2. The door on one of my tumblers is very stiff and I struggle to open it. The other tumbler door is not stiff, so I hope it loosens a bit as I use it. Over all this thing is awesome and exactly what I was looking for! Two thumbs up!

This product hasn't even lasted three months. The chipmunks and squirrels chew at the small holes to make them larger, so big that the compost falls out.

I like the idea that with the dual batch composter, I'm a little more independent. Being able to make soil is a big deal in my opinion. And with two barrels that can be agitated one at a time that speeds up the process.

We use the soil for plants and they grow very well. We avoid adding to the landfill by composting.
