A 12" planting depth and 25-quart soil capacity provides just the right amount of room for determinate tomatoes to thrive. Assembly required, with pre-drilled holes to increase efficiency. Bamboo naturally develops a silvery gray patina over time, which doesn't degrade its strength. To maintain the bamboo's initial appearance, you can apply polyurethane or another protective coating.

Loved growing cherry tomatoes in this planter but when I emptied the soil to put it away for winter, the rim broker off the basket. One season product & a big waste of $$$$

Beautiful planter made of sustainable materials. Liner material holds moisture nicely. For the most part, no need to water every day. Elevated basket has great drainage. Ideal for compact spaces including balconies and urban gardens. I have it in a sunny spot next to the kitchen door for easy harvest. I planted 1 cherry tomato, 1 basil and 2 small marigolds. Trellis keeps plant supported and creates a good barrier for critters. So far, no squirrels have been brave to get in the planter.
Like the looks and hope they last several seasons.

These were a bit of a pain to assemble, but not all that difficult. The worst parts were the included screws; of poor quality and the heads easily stripped out. Fortunately I had some on hand and was able to finish putting my 3 planters together. Add the dirt before finishing the trellis assembly for ease in placing your plants.

I bought two. They were fiddly and difficult to assemble. You'll need a power screwdriver. Once built, they're sturdy and look good. Very small planting basket, room for one tomato plant only. The basket is raised, which is good and allows for good drainage. You'll need to water frequently because of this. My main issue is that the gaps between the bamboo stakes and cross pieces are small: very hard to plant larger plants without damaging them and filling the basket with soil is awkward. It's too tall to drop in from the top. They do look good on the deck though. And they provide excellent support for tomato plants.

This was extremely difficult to put together even with a drill. The holes don't line up well and the wood was cracked in several places. If it wasn't such a pain to return, I would have sent it back.

It took me a while to put together, although the instructions are easy to follow. I put all the screws in the pre-drilled holes, removed them and then put the trellis together. Doing this made the screws much easier to get in when putting the trellis together. An electric screwdriver may have eliminated the need for the process I used. I added a 12" round on top of the X base, a saucer and a surface protector (works like pot feet) and sat my pot on top of that. My plant is happy and looks great. This planter is very sturdy and does a great job of keeping the hoya from sprawling across the floor. I have been looking for a stable plant stand for a couple of years. This plant stand & trellis is wonderful. So glad to have it.
