I purchased this copper composting bin last fall. It already has a hole in the bottom. Apparently acids in the foods to be composted corroded it.

I actually really loved this compost pail for its size and looks. But now understand the complaints other customers have left about the poor quality. I bought this in June 2022 and now just a few months later I noticed that the handle broke clean off. It looks like it was just glued on?! Very disappointed and recommended that you read and pay attention to the reviews before purchasing one. To Gardener's Supply--this could be a great product, but find a manufacturer that will at least properly weld or screw on, rather than glue on, the handles.

Good size. Very pretty copper, looks good on my counter with other copper items. No odor when used with filters. Use biodegradable liners for easy emptying to compost.

I can have this beautiful can for food scraps and it makes it easy to use . The ones under the sink are harder to use and you forget.

We've had this bin for less than a year on our kitchen counter for compostable items. The copper finish has completely worn off the inside, which will eventually spread to the outside. The copper finish on the top off the lid also is starting to come off as well. Would not recommend buying this.

I use this product as a counter top compost bucket. I live alone and so do not fill it quickly.The copper looks great but the lid is very tight and suddenly I can not open the bucket at all.

I love the look of this composter, got as a gift from a family member. Good size and very functional. However, after using it for only a month, the finish on the top of the lid began to spoil. Now it's unsightly and impossible to clean, just cannot get it back to its original luster. Quite disappointed. It really should be a more durable finish. Spoils both the look and the sense of being able to keep the container hygenic.

This was so pretty for about four months. Now it has black spots ont he cover and the copper seems to be wearing off on the inside. It's not so pretty anymore. And the 4 1/2 carbon filters I bought for replacement are too small - I have to tape them in. The description says they should fit. Lost on this purchase all around.

We ordered this in April 2020, attracted by the nice look and size of it. By June, all the copper layer had flaked off the inside. By July, the copper on the outside started to corrode. It now looks like a war zone, no longer fit to be seen in the kitchen. And this is with the use of composting bags. Just doesn't hold up to actual use at all.

Even without using charcoal, my compost doesn't fill the kitchen with THAT smell. It's easy to carry out to the composter and looks great on my counter

I don't know what took me so long to purchase this compost pail! I was using a metal bowl for years which was not as deep and had no lid therefore attracted fruit flies. This pail hold twice as many kitchen scraps for composting and with the vented lid there are no fruit flies nor odor. Composting is the BEST for reducing landfill waste.
