Garmin Alpha LTE Cellular Technology Dog Tracker

I am using my second Alpha LTE. After 6 months with the original device the brackets holding it on the dog's collar broke. It happened near home and luckily I found the LTE on the ground, still working. Garmin promptly sent a replacement. With both devices I found major difficulty sliding the collar through the 2 brackets due to their narrow opening. I used 2 different collars, nylon coated with plastic. The 1" width of the collars was fine; they were too thick for the very narrow space and barely fit through with effort. These are commonly found collars recommended for use with Alpha, and I think the narrow brackets are a flaw, plus they broke off on my first LTE. Aside from the brackets, the device's function is otherwise excellent and a pleasure to use with my cell phone and Garmin's GPS. I do not use it for hunting, but to track my dog in case he runs off in our country woods when I take him off lead. I just hope the brackets on the replacement LTE hold up in future, and if not, that I can find my dog without the LTE.

A product that works independently from the normal hunting collars and allows me to track the dog without carrying an additional handheld device. Can't wait to try it this year.

Tracks my dog's location in real time in a variety of locations and terrains. The battery lasts a long time and is quick to charge. The app is user-friendly, and the blinking lights on the tracker make it easy to find your dog at night. The tracker is light enough to fit comfortably on my 33lb dog. I would recommend purchasing one of Garmin's collar straps with the tracker, as thicker collars do not easily fit through the attachment points on the tracker. Overall, I would recommend this tracker for anyone looking for a reliable way to keep real-time tabs on their dog's location.

LTE system works well, however due to the size of the openings on the collar, it will only work with a thin plastic Garmin type collar, making it impractical for a daily use collar as it does not fit on a thicker collar unlike a FI or Whistle will.

App is not that good. Service is poor this is my second one first one strap broke but it had better service. idk maybe it been bad cellular service

For many years, I ran 2 collars on my hounds- track collar and train collar. It was a hassle for both me and my dogs. The Alpha 100 and TT collars work great. I can easily adjust the training intensity level for each dog. I also use the Drive Track in my truck so I can see dogs easier on the screen.

Very reliable tool in the field. Gives you the assurance that you and your dogs will hunt hard together and finish the day together.

A must have for any upland bird dog. Offers great peace of mind when hunting big woods or areas where your dog tends to range further.

It's a great device whether I'm using it to learn my high energy puppy's movements or to construct better training while preparing her for the upcoming hunting season. It keeps her safe and allows me to have piece of mind while she is allowed to explore the outdoors on hikes.

This device is very capable and very easy to use. You can train several dogs at once, simultaneously. I also appreciate how you can give up to three dogs individual corrections with a push of a button

We have been using the Garmin Alpha and TT15 collars for several years and they are fantastic. Highly recommend for anyone that is looking for piece of mind when your hounds are in the woods.

I love the complex simplicity of the design. You can get as detailed as you want with training, but in the end it easy to use. Im currently using it for a failed hinting dog and am getting fantastic results.

Great product for any upland hunter who likes to know exactly where there dog is and still have stimulation available to make a correction

I have loved using the alpha over using a track collar a name collar and a shock collar, Garmin has made it possible to train and keep a handle on my deer dogs much easier and i've never left a dog over night.

Great product. Screen is sometimes hard to use if you have a screen protector on this system.

I purchased one of these after one of my older dogs got lost hiking in deep snow. Luckily he found his way home. It's incredible being able to know exactly where all of my dogs are at all times while I'm hiking. With one beep they come running back without me even calling them.

I have been using a Garmin alpha for 6 years. I could not possibly be happier. The ability to use one system to both track and train dogs is second to none. It has had zero problems and has held up to 200+ days a year in the field either hunting or training. It has more features than I have taken advantage of and gives me the confidence to know that I can always find/handle my dogs. I Absolutely rely on the pairing to the Garmin Fenix. Makes running bird dogs in heavy cover a breeze. Looking forward to buying the 200i. Thank you Garmin.
