Q: Can I plug it in to a generator and use the other plugs for something small like a tv

A: Hello Sally, thank you for your question. Yes, just ensure that the total wattage of all devices plugged into the generator does not exceed its rated capacity. Overloading the generator can cause it to shut down or damage connected devices but smaller tv's should be low in power anyway.

A: Hello Devon, thank you for your question. While this will work and power your devices it does not have a large amount of surge protection built in. It only has 250 joules of protection which is not that much.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I actually received the Ultra Pro Surge Protector from Influenster and GE in exchange for my honest review, not the 3 outlet grounded extension cord. I work from home and have a computer and 2 monitors on my desk plus a desk lamp. I had another surge protector but it only had 3 outlets, so I either had to unplug the lamp or use one monitor. The Ultra Pro surge protector has 9 separate outlets- 3 on top plus 3 on each side that are far enough apart to allow you to plug in items with an adapter, vs covering 2 outlets with other surge protectors. I also like the 6ft long cord - it has a flat plug making it easy to connect when your desk is adjacent to or covers the wall outlet. A light on the side comes on when plugged in to show you that the surge protector is working properly. I was very excited to receive this quality item as it is making my work life easier

The cord is flexible with safety features included. I would definitely recommend this multi use extension cord.
