Q: Does setting this power strip to the off position effectively "unplug" the appliance?

A: Hello Mary, thank you for your question. The switch is a reset switch not necessarily a On/Off switch. The circuit breaker interrupts power in the event of an overload condition. If power to the outlets is shut down, you need to reset the power switch to restore power.

Pay close attention I needed a surge protector. I this was a surge protector its not so just pay close attention. When making the purchase to my understanding. This is a power strip extension cord with a circuit breaker. Not really sure if that will really be useful to me. I needed a surge protector for my lighted fireplace, television and blue tooth speaker.

If I could, I’d give this extension cord a zero out of ten. Sure, it works fine and all the ports are fully functioning but it’s not worth the loud and constant ringing noise that the cord produces. Do not waste your money on this cord and buy something a little more expensive to save yourself the headache. Wish I returned it when I had the chance

Picked this one up just to have an extra on hand. This has got to be one of the worst power strips I've used. The plugs do not fit very well at all, as there is some type of alignment issue with it. I would recommend getting something a bit higher quality, especially to protect your electronics.
