GE CYNC Smart Programmable Thermostat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The entire setup was easy if you follow the directions. The app is nice and allows for alot of customization of schedules and thresholds. I am trying to connect it to our humidifier as it also keeps track of that. Other than that I see the potential but will have a complete review once we get that flame sensor swapped out.

Integrated with my HVACs smoothly as well. I did have to call the handyman to setup all the wiring, but it was all worth it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I goth this a few weeks ago and wanted to give plenty of time to use it before I reviewed it. I was able to get my first electricity bill and it really helped me to cut the costs! I was able to set my temperature and control it when I was away from home. We have a chaotic schedule at home, so being able to turn down the heat on a whim when I realize that nobody is there is a really nice money saving feature. I can also heat it up a little before we get home so it is comfortable when we get there. It was easy to use an attractive on my wall. Installation was straightforward and piece of cake in my eyes. I am very happy with this thermostat!

It is so convenient (and cost-saving) to be able to leave town and adjust the temperature accordingly. That was always the last thing on my mind before leaving the house. We have an Amazon Alexa device I was able to hook up to it, so if we get cold while watching a movie on the couch we don’t even have to get up to turn the heat up a degree or two. I love the modern look of the controls too.

I have it linked to my cellphone and with the crazy weather we have had in the month of December it has saved me money. I can leave my house when it's cold in the morning and when the temperature for some reason goes up to 55-60 degrees, I can turn down my temperature at home while I'm at work. Also the same for when we are out all day left the heat down while we were out, I could bump up the heat while we were on the way home... ❤❤❤ it.

The display is clear and crisp and gives you all the information you need at a glance. The directions are written in plain English and are easy to understand. You will want to have some wiring savvy if you are attempting a self install. All in all a very cool thermostat.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this theromstat and it was easy to install - I had all the necessary wires and it was a matter of connecting the colors to the right ports and plugging it in. Took me roughly 5 minutes to get it installed from an old unit I had wanted to replace. They also included a power converter if you are missing cables to power it. I'm not sure how it works as I didn't use it. I like this because this thermostat doesn't need some hub or anything extra outside an app to control the temperature of the home. The app it comes with is called cync and its not great. honestly my experience with this thermostat is mostly marred by the app and how unintuitive it is. You get it after using it a few times but I wish the buttons could be bigger and am very appreciative that there is a dark mode. Overall it controls the temp of my ac unit. I use my alexa with it and that integration seems to be fine.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was very easy to install. I love all the features! Being away often, it is extremely gratifying to be able to set the temperature cooler before I arrive home. Often times, it is swelteringly hot in the house and I can't fall asleep.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Smart Thermostat was fairly easy to swap out.There was a site to check compabilty with your unit.It adjusts tempert to save money on power bill and helps environment saving power.It will come in real handy when traveling.We will be able to adjust heat for pipes so they don't freeze,we used to have to bother neighbors to change thermostat.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pros: 1: Very stylish I like the look of it. 2: It has automatic heat and cool mode, for those days when you need heat of a morning and air condition of a evening. 3: The thermostat install was easy per the wiring instructions in the manual. 4: The response between the app and the thermostat was very fast. 5: Google Home found the device and worked with it. 6: Came with a dongle in case you only had 4 wire install, no "C" wire, did not need it, but was nice that it was there if needed. Cons: The app install was not good at all. I would give the thermostat 5 stars, but the app only 2 stars. The app asks which wires you old thermostat has, it would tell us caution the wiring is not correct, but per their web page all is good. So continue the app and then it shows which wires to connect to the thermostat, which was what we had. Then it gets to the place for it to detect the new thermostat and it cannot find it. The instructions say to connect the thermostat and have it off and the Bluetooth symbol will show up, which it did for 1 second, but the app would never find it, tried it multiple times. It also said if the symbol did not show up to hold the menu button for 10 seconds, which did nothing. Finally after the 30 minute time for installation had expired, holding the menu button did get it into setup mode. The Bluetooth symbol stayed on the screen and then it connected to the app fine, and all was good.

You can control temperature setting through an app. Customize the temperature for different times throughout the day. You can also control it using your smart speaker devices. One of the nice things about this item is that you do not need a separate bridge or hub. Some of the other products on the market require you to purchase a separate bridge or hub.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this smart thermostat. It syncs perfectly with Alexa which was very important to me as I use Alexa for everything. Makes adjusting the temperature a breeze (pun intended) and I love that when I am already lying down in bed I can speak to Alexa to change the temperature when I need. The style of it is very sleek as well. It was very easy to set up and install. The Cync smart thermostat also saves me money on my utilities bill each month as I can adjust the settings from the app when I’m not home. I always like GE products and I’m a big fan of this smart thermostat.

Its purpose is for our mother to be able to turn the thermostat on and off from the ease of an app while she is at work. App is easy to use! Setup very easy to use! If I forget to turn the heat down before I leave home, I can turn it down from work. I can then turn the heat back up on my way home. It’s amazing!
