These knives are sturdy, forged Japanese steel which gives them excellent weight and balance. I researched them on Consumer Reports (very highly rated) and I've been very impressed with their performance so far. I'm no gourmet chef, but a good knife set makes cooking dinner so much easier. I'm very happy to get such a great set of knives for under $100!

Excellent knives that have a good weight to them. It has all the essential knives that you need. I love how the block itself is configured differently so that you can put it more against the wall and you get more space. Perfect for our small apartment kitchen. I must say that the only thing that disappointed me was that the block was a lot lighter than what is shown in the picture. But still, its a nice bamboo color, although I'd like it more if it was a darker shade. So..the block, 4 stars, the knives, 5! :D

We got this for my dad who loves GINSU knives. The price was such a steal we got one for him and one for a wedding gift for someone. The knives are super sharp and work wonderfully cutting everything we've used them for.
