Kids’ measuring guide

Use the tips & visuals in this guide to make taking your child's body measurements easy-peasy.

Dont have a fabric tape measure? Use a shoelace or pant leg to measure. Then, lay it flat & use a ruler or tape measure to get a numerical measurement.

How to measure

  • Height

    Have your child stand in front of the fridge.Mark the top of the head with a magnet. Measure a straight line from floor to magnet.

  • Chest

    Have your child make airplane arms. Wrap tape measure around the fullest part of the chest, keeping it level & snug.

  • Waist

    With your child bending to one side, measure the point where the waist flexes naturally. Keep the tape level & comfortably loose.

  • Hip

    Have your child stand like a tall tree with feet together. Measure a level line around the fullest part of the hips & seat.

  • Inseam

    Take a pair of pants that fit your child well. Measure along the seam from crotch to leg opening.

If you are looking for a bomber style jacket, this is perfect for you. The ruffles on the side of the jacket are so cute. The material of the jacket is silky and very comfortable to wear. The overall length on it is decent. The zipper is nice and smooth and glides easily. The zipper pull is a cute little lock, which is a fun decorative touch. The color is neutral therefore it goes with anything in your wardrobe. Overall, this is a good lightweight, easy to wear jacket. I received an incentive to write this review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a really cute jacket!!! My 11 year old daughter wears a size 10/12 and we got this to try in the size large 10/12. While we did like it, it did run on the larger size. The sleeves were big and long on her. The material is comfortable and it’s a bit thicker than lightweight, but she liked it better than a typical lightweight jacket material. Overall, due to the size it wouldn’t work for my daughter. Full zip in the front with casual pockets on both sides. Along the length of the outer sleeve there is some bunching of fabric for stylish purpose. My daughter is almost five years old and wearing the XS which fits her true to size and I think would fit most 5-6 year old kids. It has an easy to zip zipper that she can do by herself. I like the pockets and snaps. It is light weight so best for the fall and spring seasons or winter if you live somewhere warm. It is also water resistant and would be easy to clean.
